Despoilment has re-united and is currently writing material for a new full-length, the long overdue follow-up to 2002's "Forsaken Penetration". This is the original lineup from 2001/2002, consisting of Dusty on guitars/vox & Chris on bass/vox/programming (both formerly of Acephalus & Bane of Existence) and will remain a studio project for now. Yesterday was the first jam since the band split up in 2003 and the result - a demo recording of new song "Inbred Devastation" - has been posted to the band's Myspace page.

Yeah Tom that was Dusty I was talking to. We'd been talking occasionally about doing this since the last days of Bane of Existence. Finally got around to it yesterday and it was like no time had passed since 2003. Only now we drink beers instead of smoke weed.

I remember seeing Despoilment in Springfield back in I'm guessing '02 or something. Stoked to hear the new material.

Probably the show at Fat Cat's with Exhumed. I think that was 2003 because it was our last show. Devin from Burial filled in on vox. I have a halfway decent soundboard recording of that whole set... was a fun show!

Not sure if shows will happen this time around, being that they require regular rehearsals. I'm busy with Rhadamanthys & Metal Thursday, and I'm gonna have a kid in July. But we'll see! If we could pull it together for at least one show that would rule.

Talked to Dusty. Once we can put together a set of 5 or so new songs plus a few oldies we might try to take this bitch live if time permits. He doesn't wanna sing & play though, so we'd likely need a live vocalist who can do serious gutturals and has no problem with retarded lyrics about cousin fucking.
