I've been seeking 70's rock for the past year with a fire of passion.
Wishbone Ash is widely considered the first band to use dual guitar harmonies in a classic metal stance. Though they're somewhat lobbed into the early British prog vibe-there is a certain attitude and attack to their playing which makes them more hard hitting, fueled by sweet overdrive and thick bass tone. Makes sense that Steve Harris claims this was the band Iron Maiden wanted to be.
Highly recommend picking up a copy of "Argus" if you find one.

great bass break in the first video. i would wager a bet that deep purple was doing that dual guitar harmony stuff (albeit usually between guitar and organ) with a little bit more attitude than these guys and probably before as well. same thing with Yes. i feel like both band must have predated these dudes and were a little more fire-y.
great find though. this band is great

Argus was actually re-recorded a few years ago because the members began to quarrel over rights to the name and such. so Wishbone Ash is currently touring under the name Martin Turner's Wishbone Ash.
