New site? Maybe some day.

This is one of the best fps games I have ever played.
Basically it's like this, you're on a barren wild west type planet in search of alien technology
you do quests and get xp which unlocks and advances your class based attributes, so there is plenty of rpg in here too, minus a really thick story and over-burdensome text reading.
You fight bandits and mad maxesque psychos along with lovecraftian alien creatures
the loot is the real clincher for me, there are over 100,000 guns, at least, I heard estimates of 1 million unique items in the game to get.
You have guns, obviously, but you also have shields, which can protect you from certain elements, give you a health boost, or recover fast, and a million other things. You also have a thing called class mod, basically it adds to your specific abilities or adds to your parties ability, if you are using xbox live.
Right now for example my class mod gives me 70 percent added damage if I use a sniper, I also have one that does team health regeneration and added loot dropping.
You also have badasse and boss battles akin to diablo, just like the loot system is much like diablo.
The badass are pretty much any enemy but only bigger and stronger, usually with really good loot. You encounter these randomly.
The bosses are too few to my taste, pretty much they are just random leaders of outlaws that always drop an awesome weapon, and to boot you can go back after a while to fight them again and get the same gun if you sold it.
The bosses are kinda like the advancement of the story, every time you kill one you move onto anther area...
which by the way, the world map is huge, and you get a "runner" which helps move about the map
anyways, if you like fps or rpg, get this game.
also, anyone who plays im live user spawnofcthulhu6
My roommate just got the pc version so now I just go solo |
Tell your roommate I'm on my way to pick up the PC version as well. You sold me. |
Tell your roommate to buy me a computer that doesn't have 2001 specs so I can play new games. |
I got this for PC, eagerly awaiting checking it out. If anyone here wants to play co-op hit me up, my steam ID's nonserviam or my AIM's drawerfullofslug. |
Steam eh? Do you play TFC or CS:S? |
Game looks tits. Need to fix 360 in time for the holydays so I can play all these great games. |
I heard this game is great--kind of like a RPG FPS along the lines of Fallout 3 but better.
Unfortunately, I'm stupid broke and saving my money of MW2. Trials HD is keeping me entertained for now though. |
naw jim. I don't really play too many games anymore, I'm not sure I'll even be able to get into this one but with the cold weather coming on I'm gonna give it a shot. I'm more into the diablo side of things than the FPS side, though I did enjoy modern warfare and L4D and may pick up the sequels. Steam just rules. |
Installing now, I got about an hour to go.
I'm excited, from all I see this game looks very promising. |
Oh, yeah. This is definitely fucking AWESOME. I haven't even tried multiplayer yet. |
Yup, still awesome. HUD is obviously ported from the console versions, but the graphics look incredible. This is such a fun concept for a fps, it really is a good blend between FPS and RPG.
THe weapon variety is SICK! |
no one has ever made an FPS that has RPG like qualities to it. ever. this is the first. seriously. im not being sarcastic. at all. |
haha
can't wait to DL this |
dude you were just trolled by real spaldino. |

Play it, you'll see what I mean. Right down to color coded weapon drops a-la world of warcraft, skill trees, etc., this is a better balance than I've seen in a while.
It's been done a billion times before, but I'm not playing the shit out of those games right now. I'm playing THIS one. |

Borderlands
System Requirements*
Intel CPU - Pentium 4 2.4GHz
AMD CPU - Athlon XP 2400+
Nvidia Graphics Card - Geforce 8600 GS
ATI & Intel Graphics Card - Radeon X850 Series
RAM - 2 GB
Hard Disk Space - 8 GB
Direct X - 9
I dont have any of that, except direct X 9 and the harddrive space. looks like I'll have to pass on this game |
i'd wager Icewind Dale is more interesting anyway |
probably not. this borderlands game looks good |
aril is throwing curveballs left and right today |
first you said the moon landing was real and now you're saying a video game not made in 60000 BC looks good. |
i'll throw you a high heater to strike you out:
stop taking what I say on this forum seriously |

This is the root of your issue. Get a new computer. |
I will soon, but don't want to shell out money for one right now. This winter is going to be brutal and my car is falling apart.
Also, I called that Mass Music in Taunton and they frown upon people splitting rooms. Oh well, thanks for the info though. |

sorry, i'm playing football |
Priority will let you split a room. I think the # is 1-TON-OF-SOUND or something similar.
As for Borderlands, it's very fun. I'm reading about all the features I haven't even tried yet (vehicles, multi-player, other classes, etc...) and realizing I haven't even put a dent in this yet. |

Thanks, called them too and left a message.
Yeah the quests get fun after a while too. And there are so many nods to post apocalyptic movies. |
Okay, this game is still fun as hell. Multiplayer on the PC version is, from what I've read, shitty. They used Gamespy for online play, and all info is stored client side, so I guess there's rampant cheating and port issues with online play. (just for the PC version, the others are okay)
I still haven't even tried multiplayer. Single is still fun for me. I just unlocked the fast-travel (I go SLOW at these type of games) and it seems like things really pick up after you kill the big boss at the mine.
Beat it already. Bosses are meh. |
Boss fights seem to just be run-and-gun affairs. This game makes no effort to hide that it's all about the guns here. I think DLC will flush this game out a lot.
Did you finish everything, or just the first playthrough? |
I just became addicted to this. The assortment of weapons is very cool. |
Just beat the zombie expansion the other day. Love this game. |
FUCK
i almost bought this yesterday but ended up with Mass Effect 2
the gay cartoon-y drawings on the case turned me off.
anyone play the newer Medal of Honor for 360? I used to love those games. |
I know two different people that HATED the MoH. |
I'll definitely get B2 when it comes out, and then say goodbye to my life. The first one was unbelievably addicting. |
I literally just started playing again, the arena download is impossible unless you cheat or have three amazing friends who also have nothing to do for a whole day |
I'm hoping for customizable characters, at least maybe different armor or something |
Scooter's one-liners completely make up for the bland cartoony art. The arena is ridiculously difficult. So is that goddamn crab boss at the end of the General Knoxx DLC. The zombie expansion is the best by far.
Almost done the second playthrough using Mordacai. |
i couldn't get into this game. would much rather do time with fallout3/new vegas. |
It's a couch co-op game. That's what turned me off about fallout. |
