MetalSucks.net released the goods on the four-band Tyrants Of Evil tour bill that metal fans are calling a dream come true.
Launching the 16-show sonic assault on January 20th 2010 at the Recher Theater in Towson, Maryland and tearing their way through the U.S. and Canada are ARCH ENEMY, EXODUS, ARSIS, and Mutiny Within. Full carnal frenzy is expected at the last show on the tour, set for February 9th at the House of Blues in Hollywood.
Gary Holt, guitarist & songwriter for Bay Area thrash metal progenitors EXODUS, checks in on the upcoming North American blitz from somewhere between Colombia and Venezuela while on the bands South American tour:
"I am so stoked to announce that EXODUS will be touring the U.S. with the mighty ARCH ENEMY! As we have been friends and huge fans of theirs for what seems like forever and have played the occasional show together over the last few years, it is going to be beyond awesome to get to take part in our first full tour together. Not to mention Lee [Altus, guitarist] and I get a first class chance to steal licks from the Brothers Amott. See you there!"
Jim Malone, guitarist/songwriter/singer for melodic/technical deathsters ARSIS, states:
"I couldn't be more excited for the upcoming tour with ARCH ENEMY. Not only will it be our first tour in support of our new album Starve For The Devil, but it will also be the first time that ARSIS toured in the United States in well over a year. I hope to see many familiar faces; I have greatly missed hanging out with all the ARSIS fans at shows."
ARCH ENEMY vocalist Angela Gossow shares her enthusiasm over the touring line up:
Hells Yes! We are more then ready to return to the U.S. and Canada for a head banging & neck breaking tour experience! Totally stoked about the killer package ARCH ENEMY, EXODUS, ARSIS and Mutiny Within. We personally hand-picked these bands for you! A full-on extreme, versatile and so very METAL line-up. You will be hurting in a good way after we have been through town! The Tyrants Of Evil are ready to kill!!!

I'd go for Arsis. not big on Exodus or Arch Enemy. Never heard Mutiny Within though, maybe I'll give them a listen. |
I want to see Exodus again. This is playing tonight at the Palladium, I don't know if it is upstairs or not. |
I'm waiting to find out if it's upstairs or not. |
would that change your opinion on whether its worth shooting or not? Do you prefer one stage over the other since they are so different?
this would be an insane upstairs show! |
I can't picture that being upstairs. |
i wouldnt be surprised if it was upstairs..seems like most of the metal shows are upstairs these days |
upstairs would be super cramped though. |
so pissed I just found out about this. |
Absolutely not going to this at all. |
I wouldn't mind going to this, but not tonight... I would like to see Arch Enemy sometime. |
I'm trying to guess when Exodus will be on stage. I'm figuring that the bands run like they did for Marduk (the last show I went to @ Palladium). So maybe Exodus around 10pm - arch enemy around 11:20pm ??
still dont know if its upstairs or not. im going to nitpick exodus. |
nitpick? I think Gary Holt is off the meth, so lice probably isnt an issue these days |
it's downstairs.
mutiney within 8
arsis 8:45
exodus 9:35
arch enemy 10:55 |
I feel better now about not going to this knowing there's a better tour in the works involving Exodus. |
I'm closing up work and heading over soon.
What better tour? |
Exodus, Testament, Revocation |
close...but I won't say until it's finalized or to get any hopes up. |
Revocation, Megadeth, Exodus
Club Oasis
Bob make it happen |
I shot 1 song of mutiney within with flash. then they said no flash for the show. here's to having tons of terrible pictures. oh well. I will have to make up for it with better pictures at the next show. |
most managers and promoters are fucking gay. "NO FLASH ALLOWED, THEREFORE WE'RE NOT GOING TO TURN LIGHTS ON FOR YOU! KTHNX!" |
but I like the blur/streak photos.
I honestly don't know if that makes me cheesy or not. |
lockin the door and getting in the car |
mutiney within just finished. |

the lighting at the palladium and the tsongas arena are both terrible. |
I agree about the palladium, but the lighting at tsongas arena would be dependent on the artist who brings the lights since it's an arena. |
you are 1/2 right about the tsongas arena except they use the same lighting riggs to hold the lights up there. on of the riggs is about 20' behind the stage facing towards the crowd which is easy to work with if you lock exposure, but the front lighting rigg is 20' in front of the stage. this makes skull faces out of the people on stage. i think Ive been to maybe 1 show with good lighting there. i think it was dio/heaven and hell. i forget now.
Arsis... They have changed their appearance big time. From the dorky metal dudes that were on willowtip touring small venues to a "real" metal band playing on big stages. Everything I say here is not music based since their music IMHO hasnt suffered. They still do the same thing and play pretty sick riffs. It's just hard to see a band that i saw play the QVCC and Romans (?) playing a show wearing guyliner and making pouty lips. Ok, the pouty lips might have been all in my head, but that is still weird. I said to another photographer
"did you see the video" me
"yeah, I saw it today"
"it's funny, but they were wearing makeup!" me
"they wore it in the photo shoot i did with them too"
"that's gay" me
"alexi does it"
"yeah, and that's gay" me |

weh weh. gary rules. the singer has gotten so much better since redoing the old CD. imho it's their old drummer that ruins it. he plays their old songs like he plays the new songs. thrash music with deathmetal double bass/triggers kills it for me. |
they played a really good set list, stacking new and old tracks nicely. my comments about the drummer messing up the old songs still stands. also, the new singer has changed his appearance once again. now he looks like doug from the king of queens. |
I had an outrageous amount of fun at this show. It was so cool to have people really getting into it. The wall of death during Exodus was a perfect touch. |
The effects you have on the ladies, Rev.

is it just me or does angela look like a burn victim in 90% of the photos?
