BLUT AUS NORD US RELEASE DATE CONFIRMED

Philadelphia: Candlelight Records confirms May 18 as the US release date for the new album from France's Blut Aus Nord. Titled The Work Which Transforms God, it is the fifth chronological recording from intriguing black metal band.

Recorded, mixed and produced by the band at Earthsound Studios in ChÖ-Ling, The Work Which Transforms God will be for most their introduction to this highly innovative and, until now, under recognized band. The album is a harrowing epic that is as equally bleak as it is grandiose, recently described as the musical equivalent of Mayhem sodomizing Neurosis with a Godflesh joystick. It is a truly challenging record that is sinister to its blackened core; bleak in all manner of speaking.

Redefining music as any extreme music fan knows it, Blut Aus Nord's creations throw ardent fists in the face of mainstream and medicrity, resulting in a nightmarish voyage of sonic disharmony. England's SonicDeath says it best when noting, "listening to Blut Aus Nord is like watching your own funeral in slow motion... a great sucking veil of endless, foreboding darkness."

Band leader Vindsval says of the new album, "we wanted to create a new form of black metal; it's a feeling for us, not a defined style. We have assimilated the laws of music and now we want to use this knowledge to demolish the musical theory and invent a new form of (dis)harmony. We have no limits in this exploration of real unsane sound and we have no references because we are alone on this way."

Formed in 1994, then as a one-man project known in small circles as Vlad, Blut Aus Nord have amassed a sizeable recording history that remains out of reach of US audiences. Signing with Candlelight Records in early 2004, however, this is set to change. The band, featuring percussionist W.d Feld, bassist Ghost, session performers Nahaim and Taysiah, with guitarist/vocalist Vindsval, have recorded/released to date six known albums with participation on two additional works, 2003's Tribute to Godflesh and an upcoming split recording with Reverence.

Track listing for The Work Which Transforms God is confirmed as: End, The Choir of the Dead, Axis, The Fall, Metamorphosis, The Supreme Abstract, Our Blessed Frozen Cells, Devilish Essence, The Howling of God, Inner Mental Cage, Density, Procession of the Dead Clowns.

Candlelight Records, with offices in Philadelphia and headquartered in London, is distributed exclusively in the US by Caroline Distribution; in Canada by PHD Canada; throughout the rest of the world by Plastichead Music Distribution.
