Om tours in support of their September release God is Good (Drag City), with their slow, heavy, hypnotic drone-rock. The bass-drums-vocals configuration provides for lumbering, dirge-like soundscapes, which are infused with monastic and Tibetan chanting. Also appearing are Six Organs of Admittance, the musical vehicle of guitarist Ben Chasny, who seems to worship at the altar of John Fahey, and Lichens, Robert Lowe’s immersive weaving of looping wordless vocals into sheets of drone.

Kinda sucks that Chris is no longer the drummer, which gave them that Sleep authenticity. When they performed at the middle east upstairs and wouldn't stop playing, it was the greatest thing I've ever witnessed.
Wouldn't put it past them... Al was spurting off some crazy Sufi/mystical wisdom and asking us all if we had pot and to spark that shit up. He also requested a few of us to grab him 3 shoots of vodka. I wasn't going to lose the spot up front, but burning one down in the venue indeed commenced.
At first I was skeptical because this was a seated show, but then Om performed and it was a very atmospheric set. Amazing show, and thanks for the extra couple of bucks, Wren. Their second live record is great, did you pick that up?
