The Red Chord has officially signed with Metal Blade/ Black Market Activities. The band plans to record their next full length entitled Clients later this year. According to The Red Chord vocalist, Guy Kozowyk, "The Metal Blade offer was hands down the best all around deal we have received in the past two years. They are hard-working, honest people. They've done a remarkable job expanding the direction of the company and it has been a pleasure working with them thus far."
According to guitarist, Mike McKenzie (aka Gunface) "We are all excited about the signing. I'm happy with what they've done for us already before even signing the agreement." When asked about the newest material, Mckenzie said, "The new record will push the boundaries of our musical abilities and it will be great to have the backing of a strong label." Bassist and newest member, Gregory Weeks added, "We can't wait to tour and get out to all the places we have yet to go. I think with Metal Blade's support we can really establish ourselves and reach new audiences."
The Clients disc will be the follow up to the band's 2002 album out on Robotic Empire Fused Together in Revolving Doors. Robotic Empire owner, Andy Low added "I'm happy, excited and proud of the band. I'm glad to see the guys making the leap and I think Metal Blade is going to do the guys right."
The Red Chord leave for a 5 week tour today (Wednesday, March 31st) and will be playing the MacRock Festival in Harrisonburg, VA this Friday (April 2nd). The following day the band will join a tour with Six Feet Under and Bury Your Dead that will last through the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival on April 30th |

i found that on lamb goat so if it is not true you know the drill |
i've never heard of the red chord.....or bury your dead....who are they? |
Their drummer is also rumored to be John Longstreth (ex-origin) |
john longstreth will quit in 2 months like he does with every band
Well that's because he's going the route of session drumming for bands, like what Roddy, Barker,Laureno, all do. |
Does that mean Metal Blade is carring Black Market Activities?

don't forget Tim Yeung. |
im pretty sure jonh longstreth is playing for exhumed |
yes... he is... only for the tour. |
yes, he's on the drummer on the one tour. |
someone answer my question |
its kind of obvious that Longstrength will be playing for the Red Chord. |
oh yeah, and Lambgoat is fucking gay! |
metal blade will be doing chain store and retail distro.
lumberjack will continue to do indies. |
i get to see TRC saturday. be jealous |
I just read about that.
dick... you guys playing bunnyfest.
make sure you find the bunny bathroom. |
HxC kids attempting to play tech metal isn't very interesting. Signs Of Dying and Cryptopsy murder that band. |
I agree wholeheartedly with both. |
i'm bringin a handle of jim beam, so i'll be peeing often
not necessarily in the bathroom every time |
LOL "the red chord bury your dead and six feet under" Tour of people who know nothing about the music they attempt to play. The drummer of origin belongs in the red chord most overrated band much like his drumming. Flo from Ctopsy KILLS that dude not to mention even kevin talley destroys him, and plenty of other drummers . I love how metal blade is trying to make more money by siging these pathetic excuses for metal bands. They try to be hip and new by putting NU hardcore/metal bands on the label like unearth, as I lay dying and the red chord. all of those bands can fuck off and stop putting this mainstream attitude into metal. |
who's the red chord? didn't they play fall river once? |
wait a second... how would you know...
why did they call themselves the red cord?
i've never heard of them, but that name just
sounds lame. is it because janet jackson already
took the name the velvet rope? |
I think it's "smart persons" reference from a book about slitting someone's throat. |
and... anyone can have their opinions,
but the red chord are awesome. |
opinions are opinions. I would rather a Columbian necktie. I give Longstrength 6 months. |

Kevin Talley is good, but man is he overrated as a drummer. Bro, he is not that good, nor does he do anything out of the norm. Flo, yeah he's reached a level that few can but even he at times falls out of sync. |

I know, I realized like 10 minutes later I had forgotten him. Thanks for catching that. |
I agree mork but talley on KOA come on bro that drumming is tight as hell and totally insane. The dude from origin can blast fast yeah but he is definatly overrated there are many better drummers out there, but its true that flo can get sloppy at some points just litsen to none so vile lol. |

i thought he was in skinless.
longstreth already quit skinless. i HEARD on the first origin cd that longstreth wrote the drum parts, then they just fit guitars over it, or sumthing like that, i dunno im retarded. mike mangini(extreme), best drummer in the frickin world, so intense |
Paul and I agree about something and I just looked out the window and saw some pigs flying around.
What a strange day |

My question is this? I have never even heard of Red Chord, so are they death metal or some kind of crap hardcore? Fill me in. |
I believe Guy got the name from an opera he saw about a guy who sees his girl dead with a slit throat saying something along the lines of "my dear what is that red chord around your neck..." don't quote me there, but that's what one of his friends told me.
I don't know the deal with the BMA/MB, but most likely Guy's doing the promo on the album himself possibly through BMA, thus the 2 label names mentioned? Dunno.
Whatever. Congrats to those dudes, they've been busting ass for years so glad to hear someone finally cut them a deal worth taking. |

fucking a. Talley has a sound and style that is wicked distinctive. Longstrength is good, I like his work on Hammer of Gods the most. Origin is mint but most of the time I don't like his tone and triggers. Now Flo, this fucking guy, I love his style but anytime he does a faster blast for more than 3 seconds I always wonder "where'd the blast go?" I think he might cheat at some parts but I he utilizes shit better than Talley or Longstrength. I dunno maybe it's the French-Canadian in me but Flo's my favorite out of this bunch, probably not the best however. |

triggers are for pussies. fuck em all. |
Me agrada mucho como toca, quisiera unos ejercicios tecnicos para acelerarme

YEAH! |

i dont hate them as much. |

eh, the Red Chord are ok, for what they are...i saw them with suffocation a little while ago, and the long-haired guitarist seemed to really push himself to get the whole tech. death metal thing going.
ha, i wonder if it goes up his ass when hardcore kids call trc hardcore, just because it it has breakdowns (they really need to put down their since the flood cds and pick up devourment, all shall perish, goretrade, saprogenic, etc. to see what a real breakdown sounds like) and because its not cool to admit to liking a metal band, because metal is only for d&d nerds who sing songs about dragons and zombies, right?
and yeah, The Red Chord is a reference to a play of the same name, where this lone person kills themself and when it happens, a broken, dissonant chord gets played...hence the red chord...
and lastly, yes, they play METAL. thier clothing choices do not alter what is coming out of the amplifiers. hell, if anyone's ever seen Soils Of Fate, Vomit Remnants, or Torsofuck, they all look like either emo hipsters or total yo-thugs. hell, if anyone's seen the band photo in the new Necrophagist, it looks like an ad for american eagle. but it doesnt change the fact that these bands all put out some of the sickest death metal you'll ever hear.
people just need to realise that metal is no longer exclusive to the long-haired leatherclads. there's a whole new generation getting into the music. who care's what they dress like? as long as they love and support metal, its all that really matters. metal is pretty big, but it's still small enough that it carries a certain fragility with it; without the right support, it'll die. thats why it pisses me off so much when people rant about no good shows ever coming, then when INTERNAL SUFFERING, stabwound, emeth and incinerate come around, theres 20 people there. it should be about unity, not cliquish elitism. when people wake up to that fact, metal will come out of the dive bars, and get back into the stadiums where it belongs. |

that's funny cause most of TRC's songs were written before STF was a band.
