I'm fine with The Faceless headlining, I could care less because regardless it's going to be an awesome show. It's probably because the scene kids SOMEHOW enjoy The Faceless.
dying fetus and vital remains would be enough for me to pay $15 and go to this but the addition of other awesome bands including hivesmashah and the summond just brings it over the edge.
I actually might go to this...rock out to DA SMASHA and DA SUMMUNDA, get bombed at the bar downstairs until Fetus comes on, leave before The Faceless....sounds like a fun filled night to me
Only if we surround New England in a giant electrified steel cage covered in barb wire, those are my stipulations.
lumberjack electrified steel cage barb wire match. no rules, no mercy nigga. summoned vs. hivesmasher fight to the death. only aaron and sam will remain, fighting an epic battle mirroring the last fight of kick boxer. who will prevail? i'm going with "push".
All Ages!!
Conforza - Dismatle The Cyborg - The Summoned - Hive Smasher all have tickets for sale! Get them early. They go up to $18.00 on the day of the show!
Yes this show is a small fest. Black Friday!! The day after thanksgiving....
Talked it over with the guys, we're offering ZJ's if you buy a ticket from us. If you don't know what a ZJ is you can't afford it without the ticket sale.
Conforza - Dismatle The Cyborg - The Summoned - Hive Smasher
The sad part is all of these bands are friends with all of the same people. It's almost like a Rocko's lineup there every three weeks with the addition of a bunch of touring bands.

I'll do a special one time reunion w/ DTC for this show if Rob will let me
I for one am VERY happy that the Faceless are headlining. That means i will be able to watch Nevine for at least 40 min. Sweet.
is Naveen with them fulltime ? I knew he drummed on a song on Akeldama and its heavuly rumoured that Animosity is done.
Yup, and he did all the drumming on Planetary Duality too.

does anyone from The Summoned, Conforza, and/or Dismantle the Cyborg go to ITT Tech in Woburn? since yesterday, there's been flyers all over the school about this show
The only problem is I don't have the flyer in a real high resolution file because big bands these days love not having decent size logos anywhere to throw on a flyer. I don't like sizing logos up because they get all pixelated and look like junk. It's at 72dpi so if you feel like printing it don't expect amazing results.
i guess this date is still unannounced? also beneath the massacre is playing?

I like that it's the Planetary Depravity tour. I hope the Faceless does a lot from PD.
I'm honestly a bigger fan of Akeldama. In my opinion they tried to hard to get that jazzy-techy-proggy sound all mixed in and it sounds kinda messy structurwise.
I don't think beneath the massacre is playing this but I'll shit if they are. I'll talk to Dave in a couple days to make sure this is 100% confirmed.

Beneath The Massacre will be playing in place of Vital Remains. This is a confirmed date, They will announce on the websites and myspace soon.
Los Angeles, California-based based progressive death metallers THE FACELESS will perform their entire new album, "Planetary Duality", live on their upcoming co-headline run with DYING FETUS.
Commented guitarist Michael Keene: "I think this is going to be the best THE FACELESS performance anyone has caught to date. You can expect a few older songs in there as well and we're going to try and make this set a very unique experience for everyone who's coming. Don't miss this one!"
The tour is scheduled to kick off on November 14 in Seattle, Washington. A list of dates can be found at this location.
"Planetary Duality" sold around 5,600 copies in the United States in its first week of release to land at position No. 119 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD debuted at No. 2 on the Top New Artist Albums (Heatseekers) chart, which lists the best-selling albums by new and developing artists, defined as those who have never appeared in the Top 100 of The Billboard 200.
An e-card for "Planetary Duality" can be found at this location. The CD was released on November 11, 2008 via Sumerian Records.
Regarding the concept of the new record, Keene previously said, "There are a lot of underlying themes within the album title, the idea that these inter-dimensional beings are from another planet similar to our own and a lot of the development on earth is directly related to their influence. There is also the other layer of it, the idea that we're only aware of the one dimension we exist in but there's more to our planet than that."
Other songtitles that appear on the CD include "The Ancient Covenant", "Xenochrist" and the two-part title track, "Planetary Duality Pt. 1" and "Planetary Duality Pt. 2". Speaking on the meaning of "The Ancient Covenant", Keene said, "'The Ancient Covenant' is about an agreement between man and the inter-dimensional beings, sort of similar to the rules of engagement so to speak, between these two life forms."
THE FACELESS' debut album, "Akeldama", was released in 2006 via Sumerian Records.

I heard they were playing "Planetary Duality" in it's entirety but I wasn't sure if this was a rumor or not. That's pretty fucking sweet this has been validated.
I just thought about driving 3 hours to go to this show.

Those first three bands are raviolis

I don't understand a few things:
Why are there so many locals?
Why does the show start so damn early on a friday? I'll barely be on time for our set.
Why the hell am I selling 40 tickets for a goddamn 20 minute set? (this one goes with question number one-less bands=longer sets).
The second one I can get over because I've seen almost all of the locals a million times (especially DTC, Conforza and Hivesmasher, but I'm honestly a little pissed that we had to sell 40 tickets for a goddamn 20 minute set.
I'm not gonna talk shit because Dave is a friend of mine, but I am pretty pissed about that.
post by mattkings at Nov 19,2009 6:24pm edited Nov 19,2009 6:32pm
I'm not talking shit, I'm just trying to make sense out of it. Nashua shows never had 7 local bands or made bands sell tickets to play. They did just fine. They also paid every band that played no matter who they were. Just think it might be kinda greedy on Daves part.
I didn't say you were talking shit man, I'm just saying that I'm not going to because I know a lot of people on here would. I agree though, Nashua shows was awesome.
any show with both The Faceless and Dying Fetus should do just fine without any locals having to sell ticketsat all, let alone 40....not ripping on how anyone does business, but I do think it seems a little overboard
post by Rocko‘s at Nov 19,2009 8:28pm
I think i made it clear that this would be a "black friday fest" before i booked every band. The bands at the begining of the show are younger and dont have school plus i made them aware that they would be opening the show.
The reason for the high tix here is because well the tour is expensive and the show is expensive, I am bringing in a sound company plus a stage plus the tour is not cheap. With the tickets the show is not even payed for. I still need about 100 people to attend to break even.
Say what you will, Rocko's is still there and gives a lot of bands opportunities to play. I do the same thing that every other promoter does, Except for the few promoters that are not in business anymore.
I am trying to bring in good tours to NH, sorry if it comes with a price.
Steve i tried to get locals 25 minutes, Unfortunately it was not approved.

I am definetely not greedy, You should see where i live and the car i have, I do this because I love it. I have 4 kids so i try not to loose too much money on shows.
Most people have this day off. If it was a normal friday i would not be starting so damn early.
I'm not trying to argue here, but you say you try to not lose too much money on shows, yet this tour is so expensive that you have 7 bands selling 40 tickets/band at $15/ticket (that's what I paid if memory serves me right), which according to you means you still need 100 more people to show to break even...if it costs THAT much, why take that tour? I understand its a huge show, but if you need almost $6000 (if my math is right) to break even without having much of your own money to make up for any difference there might be, it seems that might be a smart one to pass up on
again, I'm not looking for a fight, I'm just trying to understand
post by Rocko‘s at Nov 19,2009 8:53pm
It's all good, No one is fighting.
The faceless is one of my favorite bands, Thats why I took this tour. I have always wanted to see them live, Now I get that chance.
well, I'm just saying, it would make more sense for you to pass up on this one if you need that much to just break even
not that I know, but its most likely that The Faceless would come back around on a tour that would be cheaper to book
btw, what's the capacity of Rocko's?....380 (7 bands times 40 tickets = 280 + 100 more) paying attendees seems a bit much when you factor in all the people in the bands
post by joeycobra at Nov 19,2009 9:13pm edited Nov 19,2009 9:15pm
Just my 2 cents. Dave has never wronged Astronomer, we have never sold tickets, we have been paid gas money, and he has put us on some sweet shows. I realize for awhile our ex-guitarist worked for him, but that really didn't have much to do with shows we got on. Most times he'd request us to sell tickets and we would decline, then he's offer us a sweet show where we could open and not sell tickets.
I don't always agree with ways other promoters do things. If you don't like the way a promoter does business no one is forcing you to go to their shows or sell tickets to play.
Dave - how much are you paying for the sound and staging companies? I know of a local group that is insanely good at what they do and are probably many times cheaper, if you ever wanted me to send you in their direction.

I am getting a good deal on this, The stage is also being used for Throwdown on Monday night. The sound equip is also descent for the price i am paying.
However I am always looking for better deals.
Who are your friends?

I think at most we will have 300 up there at any given time. I think people will be downstairs for most of it though..

while that is probably true, not a guarantee....especially when The Facelss and Fetus are on
PDP productions out of Greenfield. We've played a few shows with them on sound, they offer professional lighting as well. I can vouch for them, every time we've worked with them the sets have sounded insanely good.

we had about 300 for between the buried and me, I think this show will do about the same. If not better
Steve i tried to get locals 25 minutes, Unfortunately it was not approved.
I didn't mention anything about getting 25 minute sets here I believe so I just want to be sure that you know Immortal13 is Greg our bassist and well I'm SteveSummoned.
Sure I wish we could have longer set but fuck it, we'll just play 20 minutes of pure insanity. It's what we do haha.

Steve you should just change your name to greg, It would make things easy for me!

ITT: I hate selling tickets and this makes me not want to do it even more. Again not trying to start any fights or anything, just saying.

HELLO SERIOUS, HARDWORKING AND DEDICATED BANDS, WOULD YOU LIKE TO SELL AN AMOUNT OF TICKETS YOU CAN'T POSSIBLY SELL AND OWE MONEY OUT OF POCKET ON TOP OF THE HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS YOU SPEND ON YOUR BAND A WEEK IN ORDER TO PLAY A MEDIOCRE SHOW AT A MEDIOCRE VENUE TO A LACKLUSTER AUDIENCE WHO ARE ONLY ATTENDING TO HARDCORE DANCE AND ATTAIN SCENE POINTS? I KNOW I DO.
ITT: I hate selling tickets and this makes me not want to do it even more. Again not trying to start any fights or anything, just saying.
We never sold tickets for a Rocko's show. We sold for one show....back when we were still in our very early stages and we decided then we most likely would not sell tickets again.
As I said if you don't want to sell them, then don't play shows that require ticket sales. I know that shows that require ticket sales will have national touring acts....but then you ask yourself if it's worth the trouble of trying to move tickets. If it is worth the time to sell the tickets then go for it.
With that said I will be there, and I will be enjoying myself.
oh ps. I wouldn't have a problem with selling tickets if there is no commitment to sell them, and they are sold as more of a convenience(sp?) for your friends to get in a show that may otherwise sell out.
We actually sold all our tickets, now we're forwarding the rest of our sales to Hive Smasher, Conforza, & Dismantle The Cyborg. Barely had to do any work to sell these.
"Truth" may be stupid but it happens all of the time. I remember seeing tony danza's tapdance extravaganza in melrose and they only played 20 mins because there were like 10 locals on before them and we had to be out of the Jewish hall by 11. Not saying this show will run like that, but it happens all of the time.

I was there, that pissed me off too because they were fucking super tight and I wanted to see more. If every band plans ahead with a 20 minute set and breaks their shit down right after instead of standing around doing nothing then everything will be fine. When we played with Through The Eyes of the Dead the band before us took waaaay too long to get their stuff off stage and at one point I saw all their stuff up there and no members to be found. We played a 12 minute set I believe right after them. They apologized afterwards and everything was fine but it just sucked when we were supposed to have at least 20. We plan on back lining and setting up all our shit as much as possible so as soon as Conforza is done we're basically ready to go right away.
If you get there early enough you should be. Nate if you're not there I will go to your house and drag you there by tying your feet to the back of my truck and taking the roughest roads I know of to get there.
ITT: I hate selling tickets and this makes me not want to do it even more. Again not trying to start any fights or anything, just saying.
Why did you agree to this show then? Don't bitch about it.
not trying to start a fight. Plenty of other bands out there wanted this show. I gave it to you guys. Lucky i did not make you sell 50 tix!
in all honesty, i think selling tickets is fucking lame.... BUT we would have done it in a heartbeat to be playing with dying fetus and the faceless. That's how it works.

It is a huge pain in our balls, but as you said--worth it for the show!
we'll be at the Manchester NH Mall tomorrow evening, selling tickets for this show in Hot Topic while the guys in The Summoned, Conforza, and Dismantle the Cyborg ham it up with their adoring fans.

A reason to make Hot Topic look WORSE than it already is.
Hot Topic in-store appearance with The Summoned, Conforza, & Dismantle The Cyborg tonight at the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester, NH. Come hang out! Hive Smasher will be selling tickets for this Friday's show too.
I unfortunately going to have to back out of this show :( Sorry guys! I know I'm failing as "guy who goes to all the shows" hope you can forgive me. I hope the show goes well!
I'll let you know when I'm there. I don't even think I'll be there until around 4 though. Maybe three. As long as I'm there for Dismantle and on I'll be happy.
post by SW at Nov 27,2009 1:54pm
will be there for 345. interested to see the stage and how the sound is.
45 min of DF in small venue is going to be insane.
i missed something about a cynic. got here for confligration who had some moshing. young kids. when i got in, it sounded like they were using a drum machine. but i think the drum mics just have a lot of compression.
the stage is built out of plywood from the drum-riser. it fills out the spafce into a box about 4' in front of where the drums go.
mother's virus sounded a lot like pantera. at one point the room was pretty empty during their set, but then people filled back in for the end of their set.
dismantle's new singer is probably the best match I've seen them with singer-wise. they played some new songs which sounded like their older stuff. this is the first band to have good sounding drums.
enfolding darkness was ok. I'm getting sleepy so I'm more paying the greatest of attentions. blackened metalcore with some weather channel music tossed in.
suffocate was ok. they played here abunch of times that I have missed from what people have told me. some of their stuff sounded like just deathcore. then the last couple of sounds were more like as I lay dying.
beneath the massacre is the band i was the most excited to see. imho, there needs to be a hivesmasher/btm tour. that would be killer. there really isnt a more perfect band than these guys. I do think I made the drummer mess up cause he was looking at me. technical level of there songs is an 11.
the dying fetus set was fantabulous. with the crowd so close, all the raging that security was trying to keep safe, and the crowd surfing, this is better than the show at club hell. sorry blutal. song selection was quite similar, but they had less time so they played for a short amount of time. still they killed. so good. I once again road the PA like it was a bucking bronco. people went crazy for them.
Dying Fetus were great, closed with Praise the Lord, which was fantastic
Hivesmasher, the Summoned, and Conforza tore it up....missed all the other bands, sorry to Dismantle the Cyborg, meant to catch you guys, but I didn't realize you guys were on while I was downstairs waiting 15-20 minutes for a beer
busy bar was busy.....plus we thought the ceiling downstairs was gonna cave in during BTM...that was wild
GOOOOOOOOD SHOW. It seems like just about everybody went to this. Awesome sets by Dying Fetus, Faceless, Summoned, Hivesmasha, Confroza, and Dismantle. The ceiling SHOULD have caved in at the bar downstairs, SKETCHY! What a blast.
Ok, more to be said: Thanks to everyone that came out last night as well. Appearances from Dysentery, Drive By Bukkake, Pathogenic, HYEO, She Nasty, and a lot more that I can't think of right now.
pires... im not sure it that was sarcasm or not. i think the sound is compressed a bit, but better then i thought it would be. I'm still not good at video and have no clue yet what to do with the video I do get. still trying to work it into the grand scheme of rttp corp.
