boarcorpse: (club hell) more people filtered in for them so there was a larger crowd there. A lot of people left their venders booths to come down here.

hivesmasher: (jerkys) incredibly noisey up there. Still great performance from them as usual. Unfortunately, i think everyone is way too hung over to mosh yet. There were a couple spasmodic motions from the crowd, but thus far they were as tame as a 3 dollah bill.

Composted: (club hell) there set is a perfectly good example of the lengths that MSD will got to attract the younger ladies. FREE CANDY has it's limits, but a bunch of balloons will win most kids hearts. Sucked that their flottilla didnt have dick hols in them already. Makes me wonder if anyone has ever taken a blow up doll into the pool and used it until completion. So their set turned the entire club into one sweet ass party in 5 seconds flat. Balloons, stuffed frogs, huge balls (yes, they had huge balls), and books. Craziness. They may or may not have played land on a cock at the end. There were so many people up there that they also may have not have played it. their floor was violence incarnate. no asians were spared.

for an autopsy: (club hell) what a different sound for nate too do. Usually, he does the same vocals for everything, but this band showed more range on his part. The crowd was pretty tame which allowed me to take more pictures. I'm going to head right home and listen to the tracks on their myspace.

Just got in from this. What an AWESOME day. Finally got to hang with people i havent seen in forever...if not EVER. Parasitic, Dysentery, and FFAA were def my fav sets of the day. My fav, being Composted. Holy shit, man. I haven't had that much fun at a show in years, easily. They really brought everyone together. When you can get a pit THAT violent and everyone walks out happy and without a scratch, thats a good fucking set.

Dudes actually helping out clean up the post-rock show stuffed frog and balloon guts was commendable as well. So much fucking fun.

Highlights of the night were definitely Goratory, Cephalic Carnage playing Black Metal Sabbath, and Short Bus Pile Up. Heavy band is HEAVY.

I think the Parasitic set would have been better had we turned Jerky's into a giant crazy ball room and had a 6'5" drag queen pole dance for us. Now I wish I didn't have to leave. Then I could have gotten sick there and puked all over everyone while several people take pictures and nobody tries to help.

what a day yesterday!!! all the bands kicked ass and that was the most fun I have ever had at a show..that composted set ruled!!!!!! nothing can beat that and the sexcrement set. Short bus pile up blew me the fuck away...such a huge step up from what they used to be..now they are SLAMMMY as fuck! it was a pleasure meeting people,seeing all the bands, and having fun. Good job to all who helped out and made this festival possiable..thank you!!!

Man I loved this guy. I walked in with no real opinion of Shawn Whitaker, but now I am a huge fan of Insidious Decrepancy and Viral Load. He was so entertaining, and the faces he makes are classic. Living Void: melodic groovy varied grindcore that doesnt loose the grind! Really catchy yet still intense!

Boarcorpse: 1 of their best sets! Masterfully played w/ grooves, technical flourishes, & heavy as fuck riffs!

Hivesmasher: what a beautiful blast of pure grind! Noisy & unrelenting w/ some groove thrown in. Great set!

Goreality: brutal as fuck! Vocalist is unreal!

Dysentery: even while i was taking a break (sorry dudes!), they sounded slamtastic! Big riffs!

Fit for an Autopsy: proof that deathcore can be done really well! Very tasteful breakdowns, no brees, sick riffs.

Digested Flesh: awlsome brutal death from nj. Very solid set. just riff after glorious riff.

Mucopus: what a gloriously fun set! Heavy yet strangely catchy death metal riffs. And a comedic & nerdy frontman!

Inherit Disease: Yet another extremely solid brutal death band! Awesome riffs, incredible drumming, inhuman vocals, death metal at it's best

Viral Load: I can't get enough of these 1 man death metal bands! Same dude as Insidious though more brutal. Incredible playing & metal faces

Goratory: Holy crap they were awlsome! More grooves than I expected yet still incredibly brutal & in your face! I understand the hype!

Cephalic Carnage: By the time they came on, I was pretty much gone. Through my dreamy state they sounded pretty awesome. Grindcore based music but melodic in places, sludgy in others, technical all over the place.

I am surprised to hear that people liked the sound on both stages. I thought for both Insidious and Putrid the sound was pretty bad. I have played with both of them about 10 times each and listen to their CDs and the sound was not good. For putrid at club hell it was heavy but most of the tremolo riffs were not even listenable or be noticeable, it was just a wall of sound. for the heavy/slam riffs it sort or worked but overall putrids sound was poor and I walked around the room and it was poor all over.

For Insidious (upstairs) it was por as well. his sound needs to have nots of mids so you can hear his notes for all his technical rifs he plays. Again I walked round the room and it was just not good. Not sure I this was the sound guy or the sound system but Insidious sound was just not good.

If you gys liked their sets please try and catch them again some time as with a great sound both these dudes crush!

I've never seen insidious before this past weekend... and yes, the sound obviously didn't compare with the top-notch (no exageration) job that was being done in club hell, but i could hear what he was doing, and i fucking loved it. He was the highlight of my weekend (besides Cephalic doing what they do best.... or second best at least. I got to do what they do best with them out of their silver surfer with their name etched in the side.)
