if so, do you do anything to help it? every single time i get a cold it turns into bronchitis. every single time. i've seen specialists about it and they say its just how i'm built, but there has to be SOMETHING to help remedy it. obviously i know pot isn't going to help, but i barely smoke anymore, and over the last 15 years even when i didn't smoke it was just as bad. if being anally raped by an owlbear is the remedy, just let me know.

Three years ago I had it for 6 months straight. Not sure what happened to fix it

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Aug 17,2009 12:47pm
it could be your matteress or pillows...mold can fuck up your body big time.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Aug 17,2009 12:47pm
i've tried so many things to help, i figured being a vocalist would help strengthen my lungs, but i've seen no improvement after 8 years. this sucks balls.

this is the remedy for everything. in fact, it's fun even when there's nothing to cure.

good point, i haven't changed my pillow in years. that old band space fucked me up every time, i wonder if that played a part in this.

Nto sure if you use an AC at home, but my lungs have turned to shit since I started using mine this summer.

Mold/bacteria from the moisture sitting in the coils over the winter.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Aug 17,2009 1:05pm
no i don't use one for that reason, it makes my allergies go haywire. argh.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 17,2009 1:05pm
I got it twice last year.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Aug 17,2009 1:06pm
oh and I've gotten this every winter since I can remember. it ends most nights with me coughing til I puke. Now, I usually puke into my sick or DD cups while I drive.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Aug 17,2009 1:11pm
usually its once a year but last year i got it twice. a few years ago i had it 3 times. it pisses me off because my overweight, out of shape smoker friends don't get shit.

fixed

yes, that is also superior. it's a sign of fertility. or the solar panel to my sex machine. whatever seems the appropriate answer at the time.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Aug 17,2009 1:36pm
you do you know that marijuana diminishes fertility right?

im the same way man....everytime theres a small "bug" or something going around i get fucked for like 3 weeks.

ive been getting them less frequently though it may be cause i do these....

-take multi-vitamins everyday....i take the twice a day sustained release ones and only usually take one a day of those...they say if your family is prone to kidney stones to do this cause of the iron or one of the minerals in multivitamins.

-always have vitamin c ready (emergen-C, airborne, etc.) and at the first sign of scratchy/sore throat any flu/cold symptoms take a bunch of it and drink a ton of h2o. thats the best way that vit c helps if its before

-if its too late and you get the nasty fuckin slime mucosa nonsense, i usually get some raw honey at a health food shop and take a few tablespoons in hot tea. this has eclipsed any other method of getting that shit broken up and out by a longshot.

try some of that if you dont do it already...ive had chronic bronchitis all my life and had some experience fending it off

also i was thinking of homeopathics...thats what they do in europe all over and its supposed to work great...youll need to get that at the health food store too i think...they dont make it readily available, probably cause it works, and would be a political detriment in the medicine industry if it was.

hope it helps...

wow man, thanks for posting that. especially this one, i've already had a kidney stone and am bound to have more. it runs in my family.

that sucks tho man, does it typically last long?

toggletoggle post by DrewBlood@Work at Aug 17,2009 6:38pm
this used to happen to my sister alot. but what works for her is vitamins, excersize, and one of those weird aladdin's lamp thingies where you pour salt water up your nose. i'll try to find out what they're called for you. supposedly it cleans everything out in your nasal cavity.

netty pot i think

yeah netty pot, a friend suggested that too. no it doesn't last that long, what takes the longest is the clearing out once i feel better. i'll be alright to practice on Thursday, i just won't have full lung capacity yet.

Yeah: hit those expectorants early when you get a cold.

The problem is buildup of infectious material in the bronchial area.

Smoking/pot smoking helps this process occur by damaging the cilia that bail mucus out of your lower throat.

If that's not the cause, then you will need to help your body rid itself of infectious mucus.

Exciting, isn't it.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Aug 18,2009 10:44am
yeah pot smoking certainly hasn't helped, which is why i've all but eliminated it. but i was having this issue 5 or 6 years before i started anyways. when i was 15 i had a condition called "hyper-inflated lungs" and ever since then they haven't functioned properly. thankfully i don't smoke cigarettes, and never have. today is the beginning of the clearing out coughing, which sucks ass.

toggletoggle post by barbeloh at Aug 18,2009 2:26pm
I drink a couple of litres of green tea a day and that pretty much always keeps me from getting sick.

Except for the week after MDF, antioxidants couldn't quite clean that mess up.

toggletoggle post by scumfuck at Aug 18,2009 2:48pm
Same thing happens to me about once a year usually, my doctor told me that if i were to get my tonsils removed then for some reason it would help, but i was to old for them to want to do it. I just eat shit tons of vitamin c tablets ( just becarful because too much vitamin c is REALLY bad for your liver and kidneys) and sleep for about a week straight.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Aug 18,2009 2:54pm edited Aug 18,2009 2:55pm
worked for me... getting my tonsills removed was one of the most painful and uncomfortable experiences of my life but it worked. used to get bronchitis and strep throat all the time. also cured my sleep apnea.

toggletoggle post by quintessence  at Aug 18,2009 3:05pm
I get a terrible strep infection every single year around March. This year I had it for a whole month before I got antibiotics to kill that shit.
