New site? Maybe some day.
I'm sick and don't have the energy to go to any far away shows tonight. but I'm jonesing to play with my new lens.
so I'm thinking that I'm going to hit up this show. |
tonight, friday march 26th
the underground in dover NH
(next to the dover post office, held in the downstairs of the dover baptist church)
masamune, my letter, forever carved, another perfect ending, stratia
starts at 7 PM, all ages show, $4 admission |
guest list da man!
yip yip |
i might go to this, but im' not sure, my little bro's band is playing a talent show..
i'm not sure which i should go to. |
I just got back.
pictures are uploading |
so how was the show everyone? |
well the night was full of dawn of the dead talks and other zombie movies. and of course just stupid shit. |
I'm always surprise at the people at these show... it's always a room full of 15 year old girls and the boys they're making out with and then the "dovah mosh crew". the PA absolutely sucked this time. wicked blown out.
masamune: actually a really f'n good band. this features some members of alternate ending. I like this band a lot better as I'm not big into the clean-core.
my letter: they played a short set. only one old song. since I like the new songs better, that was good for me.
brother o face: dovah mosh crew borrowing my letter's gear and then playing some mosh-core. the guy that had a "staff" shirt on pulled their sound and started to take apart their stuff while they were fooing around.
stratia: a lot of acrobatics which is pretty entertaining. yes, those pictures are of the bass player in mid air. a lot of the singing was off-key. they reminded me of hopesfall.
forever carved: I think the new song has some btbam influence in there. the drums don't change up constantly though. |
yeah i liked the new song my letter played, all grindy and stuff |
masume: caught the last few songs of them, pretty good for a first show. better than most of the bands who followed them. drumming isn't really right on sometimes.
my letter: moshy stuff, drumming could be a bit better... at least they found one.
joke band: better than the next to bands.
stratia: horrible horrible vocals... the only thing good about this band was the bass player doing backflips. If i wanted to see that I'd put on espn and watch gymnastics. the guitar player had a dsl100 powering two cabs which basically sounds weak, but they aren't metal so i guess it doesn't matter.
forever carved: saw two song and then took off. kind of amaturish stuff... just young dudes trying to rock i guess.
my girlfriends bum: pretty tight.
had an awesome time. i'm not trying to make excuses but the pa was really bad, couldn't hear anything in the back. fun just the same.
everybody who listen to the record (http://www.hxcmp3.com/masamune) and we'll be back |
Yea, that and gridiron were our two worst shows by far, we just werent on. Its allright though eventually well play another good show. And I concur on liking masamune more than the alternate ending. |
oh, and the PA there suuuuuuuucked. |
haha we arent from Dovah. but yeah we're always there. its the 603/207 mosh crew. hahaha |
wheres picture of another perfect ending??? we played too you know |
um... when?
I got there at 7:05 and masamune was playing their 1st or 2nd song...
I was wondering why I didn't see you guys, though I thought I saw the lead singer in the audience for one of the other bands. |
"i think you should start smoking pot" - the reverend, we drew that picture on my friend eric's stomach a couple hours before the show when we were discussing a picutre we had seen on consumption junction |
me: when did ape play?
hybrid: last
me: after you?
hybrid: yeah
me: I thought you were last
me: so I left
sorry a.p.e. |
so that's why you were back so early you missed the last band!
dohh |

How does one go about booking a show in this Underground place? I know right where it's at and it seems super ideal for a show. Are the rules super sketchy considering it's a church or what?
Info?! |
yea..fisting for him hahaha |
My Letter needs some shows in ma or other states.if anyone is interested in booking us. leave somethin here or im us. xangelsfaulterx |
am I the only one noticing that the member of masamune not only all look alike, but are also identically dressed? |
Masamune totaly ruled this show. The rest of the bands were boring and didnt know what they were doing. |
It was totally unintentional that we were all wearing red and black, I swear. |
selfdetrux said: Masamune totaly ruled this show. The rest of the bands were boring and didnt know what they were doing. |
I found them incredibly boring. you couldnt even kick kids that cant mosh to their songs.
selfdetrux said: Masamune totaly ruled this show. The rest of the bands were boring and didnt know what they were doing. |
I actually thought Forever Carved was the best one there, they had the biggest pits and people seemed to enjoy them the most. |
forever carved's pits werent much of pits just kids wanting to push each other around woopie!, but forever carved was good |
anonymous said: forever carved's pits werent much of pits just kids wanting to push each other around woopie!, but forever carved was good |
friends of the band don't count as people enjoying the band. |
i cant see how you can say...masamune ruled the show or forever carved when my letter was the best band there |
ok you have to be fucking retraded to say a band is boring just becasue you cant mosh to them. thats not what they are going for idiot. they are playing METAL not necessarilly metalcore. you know that other genre that got raped by shadows fall and other generic metalcore bands. |
it was a fun show, just leave it at that. rustedangel my friends didnt mosh, if they enjoyed the music it was their own choice. sorry you didnt like my band, we didnt ask you to stay and listen and you didnt. this was a fun show and thaks to everyone for coming out including the rev. |

yea i would do aarons girl too dude |
Ryan, I love you, broham. |
Hey I am getting pretty sick of fags that get pissed when kids who like to mosh, Not slam dance, actually mosh at their shows. It really gets me riled up when kids need to talk shit because they don't have the same interest. |
anonymous said: yea i would do aarons girl too dude |
please leave your name. |
this show looked like it sucked. |
it was a good show.well not in ur eyes. cause it wasnt all mosh bands. |
hahaha...online fighting is gay...am I the only one that notices how rediculous that looks? |
who is in charge of booking for this place? |
it's a church, probably some old lady. |
it's a church, probably some old lady.
That would be hilarious, I wonder if she knows what is even going on. |
but seriously, does anybody know? |
i know the contacts, i'll post them after i restart my comp, it's shitting the bed. they're in my e-mail, the kids that run it are really cool, i used to go to school with one of them. |
the kid that does most of the booking is named josh (no its not me), he's a really cool kid, please try to ask if he prefers another e-mail adress to contact him on cause this is his school e-mail, but ive found i get a better response out of him when i use this one... jschanck@PEACE.GORDON.EDU |
i want ryan deckers sweet ass |
>>my friends didnt mosh, if they enjoyed the music it was their own choice. sorry you didnt like my band, <<
the way i see it, a band can't be taken seriously by people other than their friends when they don't take themselfs seriously. and that's what i see when a band gets up on stage with cheap, bad sounding gear and an intent to make alot of loud noise and be tough. music is about more than that. and if you really cared about making music (and not just making loud noise so your friends can jump around) you would get nice gear and write songs instead of riffs. untill then you'll never shake the amature immage. |
anonymous said: yea i would do aarons girl too dude |
all of you that are writing this shit are pussies, ecpecially if you can't tell me your name , your just one giant gaping vag that needs alot of attention. so tell me your name so i can put my boot in your fucking mouth, or you can continue being a imature fuck. |
thanks hybrid, I appreciate it. I will ask if he prefers another email.
Thankx again |
aarons girl is slammin ... does that piss you off?! hahaha |
I thought masamune was decent. I really liked them compared to Alternate ending. I think dreads guy should play bass instead of sing. It just suits him better in my eyes. Now this is just my oppinion. Not complete and utter truth. I also don't mean to offend dreads guy either so don't take it that way. |
I love Justin's voice in TAE. He's doing a great job. |
I will never be able to take bands like Forever Carved or My Letter seriously because at least the first of two, if challanged, will brag about their following, the amount of CD's they sell and all the shows they get. Let me ask you this though: when is the last time either played more than 100 miles away from their houses? It's not hard to seem "big" if it's the same thirty kids going to every show. Fuck, if I was forced to go to every show I'd sadly learn the words too, not out of choice but because that's how the mind works.
My Letter seems overtly sincere, I must say, but both bands won't do shit. It's just a hobby, I hope, because neither band has played a non-generic/raped chord in their short existence. |
how you can you say anything charles..my letter has made it so far in a year! we dont brag about cd sales.we are pretty amazed about our following.tell me this charles..when was the last time you we're in a good band? and being in like 3 different bands with the same members is pretty lame.sorry that we play music that ppl like.and yea we'll do stuff...way more then you can even imagine. |
and oh yea thats pretty sad when you come on the review board of a show that was played on the 26th of march.what a cool guy you are. |
charles is totally correct...we havent played out of the tri-city area or maine...and yea all the kids we play for know us....hes totally and completely right in everything he said...but we have nothing to prove....
again if anyone has any shows out of the area we'd like to get on a few |
- i personally think ML is a great band. they remind me of the bands that were around like 5 or 6 yrs ago (piecemeal, fortydaysrain, redrighthand, etc.) yeah they have kinda of an emo-core type of sound.... but it is all a matter of prefrence i guess, and iv been told most of their newer songs are more hardcore/toughguy sounding.
- to the kid that was talking about not taking music seriously with shitty equipment.... equipment is fucking expensive guy. not everyone has a mommy and daddy that will buy them anything they want.... so i guess i cant take someone seriously who will talk shit about other bands just because they lack expensive equipment.
- to charles.... what the fuck do u know. every single band around, mainstream or underground starts with just their friends going to shows... that is how people get big, word of mouth. you need to take less time criticising others and more time getting some musical talent.
-about justin playing bass and not singing.... i didnt get to see mesamune play... but i did like the first song on alternate endings cd.... that is a good tune. didnt care for the other songs tho.
-and finally some words to ML - u guys rock, you will have bad shows... noone is on top of their game all the time... as for me i think ill try to actually show up to the next show... iv missed the past 2 =/ |
Hey Steve...
I think the question you should ask yourself is "when is the last time YOU were in a good band?" I dont want to start shit, because I think you guys are/were nice kids, but fuck some shit just has to be said.
First off, who the fuck cares if he came on a review board for a show you played the 26th? What fucking legitimate diss are you trying to make here, because there is nothing wrong with someone posting on a message board in a thread that is a week old. For christ's sake, some threads here are two years old. Think, for just one second, that perhaps not all of us are on this board 24/7 and he just now read this thread. Is that impossible to grasp?
Secondly, if you weren't a retarded fuckhead from Farmington (oh shit, here I go) than you would have read what was posted correctly. He clearly started that "the first of the two", i.e. Forever Carved, NOT My Letter, brags about CD sales, following, etc. Very little was said about you besides the fact that you a) havent played out of NH and b) have never written an original song.
Lastly, I play in this shitty band Charles is in and I think it's a bit absurd that you can judge us without ever hearing us. I'll be the first to say we probably are the last thing you'd like, but this metal thing isn't exactly our "scene", nor is ours yours. But I've played in metal bands... ones that have gone further than your little mess of a group, and I think your criticism is fucking ridiculous considering you know absolutely nothing about any project either of us have taken part in in the past... I dunno, year+? You contradict yourself when you say you dont brag, and then go on to brag about how far your band has gone, how far you've gone/will go and how "lame" it is that we choose to have multiple projects with the same people. Fuck, heaven forbid I want to start a side project that sounds nothing like my other band and a member of said band happens to be interested in doing it with me. How many fucking scene points do I lose?
And Rick... you guys had a show we booked for you Friday and decided not to show up. I've heard excuses from Steve about how you couldnt find the place, but thats fucking bullshit. A) it's on Route 108, which is the easiest place to find in the area and B) we had a kid come up to us at 2:00PM that day and go "I was gonna come tonight but I talked to My Letter and they arent playing". Weird... perhaps you guys just wanted to show up really, really, really early? Like... four hours?
All I can say is at least Rick seems humble about it. Steve, it's no big suprise that your band is going to break up within the next year and you'll stop playing music, listening to hardcore, etc soon after. It's the way of the scene. Don't get so ahead of yourself, fuckhead. |
and Joey Dreadz... who the fuck are you to judge anyone's musical talent? This is a message board located on the internet: expect bullshit criticism and if you don't at all feel threatened by it, ignore it. There has to be some truth to what is being said if you guys get so angry. |
its joedreadz... im not a baby kangaroo.
only the ignorant post bullshit criticism.
what happened to the whole hardcore = unity thing... i guess that died with piecemeal and the other xXx bands.
kthxbye. |
who the hell are all of you people? shouldn't you all be in school? this show is so 2 weeks ago. christ! bahahaha.
and channing, don't act like you're the friggen 'man' of the scene just because you gurgled for iranach (what other metal bands were you in that went far?)... Iranach broke up, how far did you get again???? Your shit talk won't affect any of these kids so why waste your time? chances are, they don't give a fuck. |
Tom...
I wasn't bragging. At least we released a legit CD and had a chance to do more. We chose against doing so. We broke up out of choice, not because of drama.
Despite all the shit you think about me, know this: I've played in shitty punk bands that have gotten further than anything you'll ever accomplish.
You bitter, bitter child. Forever doomed to attend bad shows and offer cheap criticism. I cant believe you have this much hatred for someone just because they quit your shitty band... what... three years ago?
Eat shit, geek. |
p.s. I dont care if they dont give a fuck. These are the same kids you shit talk on here, and they ignore you too. It's a forum for people to express their thoughts. I'm doing so.
Bitch about it. |

The funny thing is that you are bragging. You've played in shitty punk bands that went far? makes sense. How far did your punk bands go chan? MTV? what? With a punk band it doesn't take much to go far considering punk is as gay as your haircut.
Iranach, would have been much better off without you. Like you contributed anything musically to that band other than BORING half assed devourment gurgles.
I don't hate you because you quit my band 3 years ago, for some reason you think so... I hate you because you are a total scumbag... somehow you manage to make people think you're actually a good guy (for a while at least)...
"I've played in shitty punk bands that have gotten further than anything you'll ever accomplish."
How arrogant of you Channing, Another reason why I think you are a douche. So you think you're previous bands are more accomplished because you released a CD? That doesn't give you anymore credibilty especially if you suck or breakup. Another thing, you don't know what I'm doing now so chomp on a turtle dick.. Either way it's sure better than any of your shitty punk and nu-wave bands. Fuckin scene jumping druggie fag.
For those of you who don't know, let me fill people in on what happend with my old band: I convinced my drummer rob (aka bordersauce) to let channing try out even though rob didn't want him in the band due to the fact he knew about him. Chan wouldn't have ever met any of the '603' kids and didn't even hear of Iranach until we played a show with them. So I think you owe me a thanks for that one bitch. haha. |
mmmmmm so much drama. why don't you all keep it on livejournal?
and in other news - hardcore is gay, "nu"-wave is going to rule you all. |
because livejournal is gayer than his haircut. |
whoooooooa look who's talking |
Oh Tom... you've never been good with keeping the story straight.
Not that this is even remotely important, but your little tale on how I joined iRANACH isn't exactly right. I found iRANACH on Just Another Scene and contacted Rob Wolfe about being their vocalist, since "deathgrind band from NH" seemed all too perfect for my vocals, and too good to be true. He wrote me back and said they had a guy jamming with them but if he fell through they'd try me out. We kept talking and he realized I was at a show you guys played in Rochester where Josh was sick and at one point I grabbed the mic and sang and he went nuts. Tom, as sad as this sounds, I have this on video. Someone filmed the whole show and it shows my goofy attempt at singing and Rob's reaction. So I told Rob if the guy quit I'd join the band. Then I tried out for your band, and regardless of what you think, I had never done anything besides not be cool enough to ever deteer Rob Gonzales from letting me singing in your stupid band. Yes, at that show I met all the 603 kids. No, I dont owe that to you and I dont look at that as my big break or anything. Do I talk to any of them still? One or two. Do you? Probably not. I'm not gonna even pretend for one second that those were the "glory days" or any shit like that, because while fun, looking back it obviously didnt live up to its potential. NH was full of good bands that fizzled out. End of story. Regardless, I dont owe you shit. I dont need to sit and explain to you any of the accomplishments iRANACH made or the opportunities we had and turned down. It would be petty, but fuck... allow me to be just for a second by saying it was still a lot more than you have done/will do. Tom... your life is this message board and computer games. I don't need to know what you're doing these days to make a fairly good assumption: nothing.
You obviously never paid attention/knew or know anything about me because the "scene jumper fag" thing is ridiculous. I've been listening to this faggy art music you trash constantly even before I got into metal, so shut the fuck up. The first conversation I had with the Rev in person was about faggy music (note Rev- the Conor Obrest picture haha). I dont have shit to prove to you Tom. Nothing I've ever said bad about you has been out of anger or jealousy. Call me a horrible person, a bad dresser, fat, a druggie, etc. Big fucking deal. I'm not going to let some spoiled little shitfuck who never leaves his computer make me feel stupid.
And I hate to make you look a little dumb, but you took the punk band thing too seriously. It was obviously my way of saying that a shitty three chord punk band is far more important than anything you could ever put time/effort into. Just a simple diss. Take it at that or cry me a fucking river.
hmm, some of that may be true. Why did none of us ever know any of this Channing? Maybe because you didn't tell us asshole. I remember not hearing from you after the first show we played together in KITTERY. As in, you never told any of us that you were joining iranach...you said you 'had to move'. Never did you tell us straight up that you were quitting for another band.. wicked lame. Though I don't care anymore, but that's what happend.
if saying that iranach playing a few shows and putting out a split with a gay structure of lies is more than I will do makes you happy so be it. HSM didn't accomplish a whole lot so it didn't take much to do more. My life is a message board? so why are you here now? why do you have livejournal? okay faggggggg. You just started regularly posting here to promote your gay artfag shows.
spoiled? how? I've paid for everything I own. Having a family that loves me is a completely different topic.
I'm glad the punk band jab was just a joke, that still leaves you with no band that is accomplished and you looking dumb. Good luck. |
I'm on pins and needles here.
when are they going to fuck each other like a couple of steve albinis. |

Actually Tom, if my memory serves me correct, I did tell you I told iRANACH I'd join them. You didn't care. I talked to you online and just got bombarded with bullshit. I guess its not that important. Both of our bands are long gone. Whatever.
I do think that putting out a CD is a bigger accomplishment than playing ten local shows in two years. Why is that big fucking deal? We also has three different labels taking interest in us, one of which sent us over the contract for two full lengths, which scared us to death considering we had trouble writing enough material for a live set alone. Which brings me to the point you stated earlier that I contributed nothing to iRANACH and they would have been better off without me. First off, my vocals fit the band just fine. Considering you hate/think that style of metal is played out, I don't expect you to like it, so you arent exactly a sutible judge. Secondly, the core of iRANACH was three really talented musicians. More talent than I could ever hope to have, so what fucking place do I have in the song writing that goes on at practice? None. No, I didnt show up to many practices, considering it was an hour away, but we made due and I dont think if I had been there that the songs would have come out any different. I know very few metal bands who's singers write the music. I'm sure there are exceptions, but give me a fucking break.
My life isnt this board. There is a difference between me promoting my
"gay art fag" shows and you replying to every post that goes down.
Tom... I didnt say you didnt pay for what you own. I merely stated that you are a spoiled bitch who has never suffered a day in his life. It's hard to be hurt when you don't leave the four walls that make up your bedroom.
Regardless of what you think about me, you have zero facts. Every conclusion you have come to about me is based on hear say or what some psycho bitch blabbed out. You arent worth an explanation and the people that were got one and I can call those people friends. You just arent worth any more of my time. |
your memory doesn't serve you correct. you didn't tell us anything about joining iranach, we found out from someone else. of course I think iranach's music was pretty killer. rob, jere and jon worked well together. your vocals sucked though. believe it or not, when wolfe sang for iranach it blew yours away.
I've suffered before, I almost died, had a spinal tap, 14 teeth pulled, I also had gang green before. More to come I'm sure, but the fact that I don't suffer all the time could be because I don't feed myself drugs and alcohol everyday. Call me spoiled all you want, usually it's considered being responsible.
you expect people to go to your shows by posting them here, when you don't go to any of the other shows posted here. my time on rttp is probably equal to the amount of time you spend at livejournal posting comments. so it equals out. |
just a quick note on the whole shows thing and shameless self-promotion -
i started putting on shows @ the basement to try and bring this area together for music, whether it be hardcore, metal, artsy shit, or whatever. the first show there was with the_network and a bunch of other metal bands. the last few have been more arty, but coming up in may BSI is playing. i'm trying to make a venue that people who like music can come and enjoy themselves without having it be a high priced fashion show.
i have used RTTP the advertise it because i know there are a lot of people here that love music REGARDLESS of what type. sure, it IS a metal site, and love and respect that. but i post the basement shows here because local music is important. why don't you start calling the rev a big fag for coming to these "art-fag" shows and taking photos? he has an appreciation for music, or at least an interest in the seacoast as a home of music.
i'm going to go eat some drugs now.
love,
jonathan |

my band hasnt sold a cd since august of 2003, and we dont really have a following, and as far as our band being a hobby, it is, 3 of us are still in high school, this is just something we do in our off time. if kids come out to our shows i apologize. we dont have "rock star" attitudes, we're pretty laid back kids. our practice space smells like cat pee, we talk about having sex with our bassists mom a lot and we all have jobs. i dont think thats a rock star life, well maybe in germany it is. both my band and my letter are good kids, we're not trying to tred on anyones terf. just high school kids having a good time. we cant help it if the reverend or anyone else comes out to our shows. it's like the black guys coming to the all white dance and groping the white girls. as little white boys, we dont care, have the white girls. cause everyone loves white girls. |
None of us are forced to go. You're just mad because people actually like My Letter and Forever Carved. It isnt exactly a bad thing that we have a have a good time while theyre playing. It's called SUPPORTING your friends. Give me a break. |

though I don't get the last part of his email
hybrid said: it's like the black guys coming to the all white dance and groping the white girls. as little white boys, we dont care, have the white girls. cause everyone loves white girls. |
though in 8th grade my date to the main dance left me for a black kid. I got news that shes on a soccer team in NH, but I couldn't find it. |
That's weird... you are probably the first person to admit that iRANACH was better with Rob on vocals... back when they were moshmetal(!!!). Once again, I must state the fact that you hate Devourment-style vocals so you don't exactly seem to be a proper judge. I could care less. It's not like it was hard to sing like a frog. You can hate on it all you want, but plenty of people thought it was good, and that's worth more to me than your opinion anyday.
And who the fuck said I was force feeding myself drugs and alcohol constantly? You need to get your facts straight! And my livejournal is updated once... every day or two days. It takes two minutes. That does not compare to this messageboard whatsoever, not that its even important anymore.
Fuck... none of this is, right?
And Josh... hate to burst your humble little bubble you've created, but I have pretty good memory of message board bullshit you spit a while back when kids trashed you guys for sucking and you retaliated with talk of your fans/CD-sales (at school). I dunno... maybe you've changed. Not that you should or do care what Charles thinks.
Sarah: I'm really not jealous whatsoever that kids like Forever Carved or My Letter. That's not my scene, but I think I have a good understanding of what good and bad music is, no matter what the genre. I've seen their fans... it's not threatening to me whatsoever, so please shut the fuck up. I'm not going to waste my life bent out of shape over the fact that people like shitty music. That's a given. Ever heard of MTV, the Warped Tour, Ozzfest, etc?
By the way... April 20th! Basement show in Dover! Faggy art bands! Come suck some dick, snort some coke and dance the night away with your favorite gender-bending kIdz OF thE nITe! |

It seems like the only people who like my letter are people from there home town, and they only like them just because they are the only big band from farmington...and its cool nowadays to like "hardcore" bands |
Amen Jason.
And Davyp... Neither Tom nor I are 18. I don't think personal differences are reserved strictly for teenagers. Get real. |
this post should die, the conversation here is pointless, and so unneeded. who the fuck cares about who does what and what band they like. I mean life should not be spent bickering over shows and whos cooler and who has better gear... Guys grow up, the world doesn't revolve around 18 year old High School kids and oh think before you write or speak, you might sound smarter. |

so my letters fan base is a lot of their friends and ppl who have heard about them through their friends.... who cares? again i say that is how everyone starts out.... funny how they live/go to school in farmington so it would make sense that most their fans are farmington kids.... how many ppl in bands dont tell their friends about it and/or tell them to go to shows..... lets think about this a little bit harder people, its not that hard to use your heads.
you have to think outside of the box.
and whoever said there not afraid of ML crew.... whats to be afraid of... were not the fucking crypts or something. if it means anything. im not afraid of anyones crew that goes to shows in this general area.
long posts are great. |

Thank god for people with the same thoughts. This topic does need to die though. People need to stop fighting.
