New site? Maybe some day.
you're just jealous I have more points than you! |
Nope.
Did you take a picture of the Ouch demo? |
naw, I scanned it. Figured it would add authenticity to the submission. haha |
ITT: 13 year old fanboy with 12,000 points rejects (ouch) for not being "metal" or having a "real" release |
then they let in Underoath because their first album is "metal." |
I don't mind underoath's first album but its definitely not metal. |
Underoath's first 2 albums are definitely metal. |
Underoath's first 2 albums are definitely metal. |
but screamo underoath > metal underoath |
not a huge fan of either Underoath, however there's a couple songs on their third album that are catchy. |
thanks WREN. You guys are the best. |
I think the album after that is there best. |
might have to acquire it for the heck of it. Even if I don't like it, I'll like it... |
also, arillius, I just got asked by a doom metal band from Jordan to submit them to the metal archives! haha
i've been schooled by archaeon. |
dammit, Ouch was rejected... oh well |
what is the reason why? if it's "no release proof" then just take a picture of it.
if it's they're "not metal" then well, that's subjective and here we go again with 15 year olds dictating a whole genre. |
"not metal" unfortunately
I'll argue it later haha |
No need to argue it. (ouch) is pretty far from conventional metal, and it doesn't bother me either way. I've never used the site, Jim(aril) explained what it's used for last night. |
That's still fucking retarded. |
now let me ask you, do they actually go and listen to the music? Or do they base their judgement on what the release looks like? |
the go to the myspace, check to see if there's any evidence of a physical release (didn't start doing this until around 2006 when myspace black metal was huge) and then use their authority to dictate a genre |
haha nice. you shoulda put "" on authority. |
I really love the metal archives as a resource, but it always bugs me when they get all "subjective" and such.
Granted I'm pretty liberal in my labeling of metal, but still.
(I often list Slipknot and a few other "nu metal" bands as metal, but that's just me) |
Slipknot's first release when they had 6 members (Mate Feed Kill Repeat) sounded more metal than some of the bands on that site, sadly. |
are you ouchdrummer? no you are not. |
orrr are you?
DUN DUN DUUUNNNNNNNNN. |
i just read the reviews for underoath on MA. It's funny how they'll let reviews like that pass but if you were to do it for any other band they'd deny it. oh the lulz |
