Monday Sept 28th 2009 @ Rocko's - Manchester NH
SHALL PERISH - BORN OF OSIRIS
AFTER THE BURIAL
CALIBAN
SUFFOKATE
Would anyone come to this?
caliban? for real? If it weren't a monday.. |
Caliban? Holy shit, I haven't listened to them since like freshman year of high school. I would go to this show but mostly just for All Shall Perish. I saw Born of Osiris at Summer Slaughter and I finally realized how gay they are. |
if i were in the area, hell yeah I would |

This would probably sell out. |
Loved caliban at one point. However, now not so much and def not worth driving 2+hrs. |
I'd go if it were Caliban supporting "Vent." Fuck everything they did after that, with the exception of the 2nd split with HSB. So in other words, no, I would not go. |

Absolutely. Small boy.. is a great cd as well. |
Mos def son, the best to be precise. |
the record after vent was ok to. I forget what it was called...but shortly after that record I lost all interest in this band. |
Shadow Hearts. I dug it at the time, but looking back it's meh, to me. The Opposite Of Within or whatever it was called that came out next was fucking horrid. It was clear that they were trying to be Killswitch Engage, only worse. |

Right Shadow Hearts I enjoyed, I didn't bother with anything after that. From what I've heard glad I stopped at Shadow hearts. |
i would def come!! have dysentery open! we are good friends with all shall perish!!! |
This is confirmed! Monday Sept 28th.
2 local spots. Email myspace.com/imthirstyentertainment for info on playing. |
I recall the other day you said you want The Summoned on this lineup... |
haha no its not 100 tickets |
haha no its not 100 tickets |
yeah, just get 5 locals to sell 20 each. |
2 locals, 15 tickets each? |
Obviously I would like tickets to be sold. The amount though is between the local and myself. If your interested please email me on myspace so its not on a forum or something.... |
Well, Dave, if you're promoting a show and asking bands on here if they want to play, they need to know what kind of slave labor they have to do before contacting you about the show. A public forum is the perfect place for all this to happen. Just let it happen, Dave. Close your eyes and let it happen.... |
Ever get a bagel with an inadequate schmeer?
Really pisses me off. Like, way more than it should. |

No point of preselling tickets to this. If bands/promoter were to properly advertise this show it would sell out regardless of tickets. |
This is the kind of lineup that should not need any bands selling tickets. A healthy dose of concert promotion is all it needs. |
All it's going to get for promotion are Myspace flyers. |
Patho = interested
message = sent
We'll sell 30,000 tickets if we have to haha |
I agree with them, Dave. You told me the other day you already know it's gonna sell out for those bands, so why make the locals sell tickets when you already know this? If you already know you'll make enough money for it then why make other locals slave over it when you should just get the right ones that deserve to play that show? IM me man and we will talk further about this. |
Because he hates local music. thats why. |
Dude fuck you archaeon, ur pathetic, wake up your shift at McDonalds starts in 20 minutes....
This show will sell out, I dont really give a fuck if your a band that does not sell tickets. For this show you have to sell tickets.
Go play someone elses show if you cant fucking comprehend this.
Why even fucking whine about selling tickets, Dont you want to please your fans by offering them lower tickets than at the door? For this show it should be a fucking cake walk.
I am really tired of bands saying they deserve this shit or im friends with the bands. Im the one putting up the money, I deserve a band willing to sell tickets.
Whatever most people are assholes....
WAAAAAAAAAAAAIT a minute....
Is this Caliban from Germany? Or some local band? |
Yup, it's the actual Caliban. At first I was confused as to why they weren't mentioned in the title of the thread. Not too long ago that band was blowing up, and playing all over the world.
Then I remembered. Not too long ago Thirsty O'Faggot was just discovering Godsmack like it was the holy grail. |
oh pay to play, will you never learn? |

Yes, your intentions with ticket sales are to help out the fans of a band selling tickets by giving them a $3 discount for a show thats probably already overpriced in the first place. yep okay.
Plenty of local bands around here do "deserve this" but you've never actually taken that into play because you can always find another shitty NH band that will sell 4 thousand for a chance to play with 4 thousand other bands no one gives a shit about.
Book bands that are doing something locally, not bands that are willing to pay X amount of dollars to play at 3 in the afternoon. (this is the part where he ignores everything else I posted and says that the shows at 6 or some bullshit)
whoop look at the time. gotta get to McDonald's. |
Welllllll Pathogenic is playing this, so if you wanna go, buy from us! |
I think it's really really really funny, that the garantee for all the headlining bands COMBINED wasn't nearly as much as immolation's guarantee. And these bands are probably about twenty times bigger than Immolation. Don't get me wrong, i have a special place in my heart for their inverted chord riffing, but seriously the drum production is ALWAYS fucking terrible and just because you're an older death metal band and have been around for a while, doesn't mean you'll actually draw a crowd!
F-U IMMOLATION AND YOUR RIDICULOUS GUARANTEE |

Premonitions of War went out 4-5 years ago with Misery Signals, Internal Bleeding and Six Feet Under. SFU headlined and we were main support. I think SFU was pulling in like a $1000-$1500 guarantee a night. We were getting like $150-$200 for the main support slot. Just about every single night after we played, I would say 80-85% of the crowd was gone. SFU played to an average of like 20 kids a night for their whopping headliner guarantee. Barnes would get led onstage by his "security guard" after making the remaining crowd wait for sometimes close to an hour before starting their set. |
are After The Burial & Born Of Osris REALLY bigger than Caliban?
Also I booked All Shall Perish a few years ago, not big on their music but super nice group of dudes. Unlike Suicide Silence's vocalist....this was prior to them getting signed. He was a fucking douche for no real reason at all. Come to think of it everyone else there was super nice.....except that guy. |
Six feet under is so bad. |
joey: that was a good show. |

It was....and I broke even.
To bad you can't book that hall anymore it was great for shows. |

AHAHAHA I knew it. Bands need to be fuckin' realistic with their guarantee's. SFU and Immolation...i'm looking at you.
STI FTW |
Yeah man Immolation is so gay for actually wanting to make money after playing for nearly 20 years. *rolls eyes* |
5000 bucks? That's a guarantee that even some MAINSTREAM bands can't pull off. 5K is unrealistic. Come on. |
The point is, regardless of how long you've been a band, if no one is sticking around when you play, or even coming to the show, why should you get paid that kind of money based on some out of date reputation? Headlining bands especially... if you're that good to run a tour on top, the shows shouldnt suck, and you'll get the money you "earned" for being the headliner.
I know theres always the bad promotion thing, weird tour line-ups, and other strange factors that tie in, but some bands REALLY dont deserve the money. |

Suffocation gets 6k per show. and that was a few years ago.
they must be pulling it off somehow. considering they get shows and all.... |
Suffocation is different they have a much larger draw and much higher quality material....We're just remarking on how immolation is among one of the bands that has Six Feet Under Syndrom and just can't seem to break it to themselves that they aren't as popular as they used to be |
joey: that was a good show. |
Agreed, very awesome show. |
thanks guys!
I miss booking shows....kinda...a little. |
