I'm in need of a pair of somewhat decently priced headphones for some basic recording/playback stuff I'm doing on my PC. Mixes aren't going to be for anything good, but I'd rather go headphones than monitors, since my downstairs neighbor is a sand-filled cunt.

Looking to spend around $100 give or take $20 or so. I almost got some Bose over-the-ears for about $125, but I'm re-thinking it since I guess they break easy.

Any suggestions?

I have a pair of Senheiser HD201's that i've had almost 2 years now. best purchase ive ever made. they were only 20 bucks and are easily the most comfortable and best sounding headphones ive ever used. Before these i had 3 or 4 different full ear headphones and every single one of em ended up breaking after a few months. Granted i stepped on em, but ive stepped on these and they're still kicking. I've always had the adjustable slider part break off, then i would fix it with tape which worked for a couple weeks until i got too pissed off and threw em out.

These one's are beefy though, when i do eventually break them im gonna buy another pair.

I got a pair of skull candy skull crusher headphones last christmas.

I use them all the time for my ipod and recording shit.

they are great and can be found for like 30 bucks most of the time because they are always coming out with new colors and discontinuing old ones.

I've heard fantastic things about the Grado SR60i - I'm hoping to pick a pair up at some point.

I was looking into getting a pair of these. Super cheap, but some reviews said they're kind thin sounding and are tough to get up to a decent volume. Any truth to that?

The vic Firth drummer headphones or whatever are actually pretty awesome

block out enough sound to record live drums with and a relatively flat frequency response, decently comfortable too

for mixing purposes though i wouldn't go with Bose. Excellent consumer headphones though.

i own a par of SH550s and steelsound 5Hv2. Both are awesome headphones.

well i run out of my computer and into a Marantz receiver and plug my headphones into that. So i have them EQ'ed and can crank em as loud as i want with the amp. I could imagine that using them with a cheap mp3 player or walkman they might sound a little thin. But for my purposes theyre perfect.
