they originally had an issue with fw. I got 2 with the bad firmware and upgraded them. Then I bought another 4 drives. So I have 6 seagate 1.5TB drives.
so far, I've mailed in and gotten refurbs in 4 out of 6.
now, one of the refurbs is dead. wtf!
I've spent $13 per drive to mail them in too. fuck you seagate.

no, I've known about their issues for a while. they just said they fixed it. they didn't.

Computers are dumb and expensive. I have a well-mannered Greek slave girl who tends to my information storage needs just fine.

I have a NAS with 3x1.5TB in a RAID5 and there is only 200MB of space on it. So I was putting in 2x1.5TB into a RAID1 until I got a couple 2TB to start a 3x2TB RAID 5. I'm pissed at these 1.5TB drives.

I would just get 3x2TB, but that would be over $700... not now disco-lady.

still trying to avoid seagate, the only other option is the WD 1.5 GREEN's and they supposedly aren't good in raid.

I have 2 1.5TB wd's that are still working well.

i just got another seagate, my original one broke with my finals on in.
got another one hopefully this one holds up...
still have to send my original one out to seagate... how long does it take rev?

if your files are only on one drive, you will lose it.
if your files are in 3 places, they are backed up.
