I love this non-controversial controversy. Why would you claim to be from Iceland if you're not when you're already from fucking Germany? Norse mythology was Germanic long before it ever came to Iceland, what's the advantage?

iceland is more cult, they still have isolated gene pool and don't afraid of allied powers.
It's just funny because of claiming to be from somewhere you're not.
What I'm saying is, why would you think this is the case other than message board gossip - I don't know what he'd gain from it, so can't see why he'd do it in the first place. Occam's razor, homeboy.

You spent your childhood in Iceland ... What represents Iceland for you? I remember the first promo-tape I have received from No Color many years ago and they informed about a great Iceland solo project... After then, you moved in Germany ...
"No comments about this one. There are far too many rumors, and no matter what I am saying, people continue to spread weird things. That is why I decided to simply shut up about such topics, hope you understand..."

Basically, he's been getting slammed for this since Falkenbach has been around. He used Icelandic for album and song titles or something, and people continuously questioned him about what connection he has to Iceland. There is no definite proof that he spent his "childhood" in Iceland, so it's quite funny on that regard.
Either way, I've loved Falkenbach for many years, and could really care less about what he claims, other than the music. I love his style. First two albums are my favorite (GEE, WHO'D A THUNK IT)
It's hard for me to cite something I remember reading 10 years ago. But do a google search about it, and you'll discover he dodges questions about his Icelandic past. This even made it to MetalArchives because of its relevance to his music. But yet, I remember hearing about him providing zero evidence of him being from Iceland. But the fact of the matter is, WHO REALLY CARES,FALKENPEDIA?!

srsly, i don't know where people get the idea that musicians' brains are open sock drawers for them to rummage through, especially cultish metal stuff. (cultish as opposed to kvltish haha). real men ignore the gossipmongers and make metal; ladies have sewing circles and demand answers.
Yes.. a lot of people loved their album Genevieve when it came out then all the shit started hitting the fan with them. They were secretive about the members and stuff as well. The Internet black metal message boards (namely FMP, their label at the time) exposed them and butchered them to death. They were one of those bands that had rumors floating around for a while.
