yea it looks pretty good. the fact its produced by sam raimi is awesome.

the CGI looked worse then the leaked version of x-men origins.

i hear its actually scary, and funny like an evil dead movie. this is coming from me. and yes i think the commercials look like shit too. but the reviews i've read. i'm gonna go ahead and believe the hype. i'll see it first and tell you guys how much you should see it too.

I've read the same thing, the trailers are crap but the actual movie is very Evil Dead-like. Works for me!

I am looking foward to seeing this, the PG13 rating got me a little disapointed.

Horror movies are NOT supposed to be PG-13. That is plain faggotry.

i know i know. usually i'd be the one saying this. but think about what makes an R rating. gore, sex, and swearing. it can still be scary with pg-13. and if you change the color of the blood just a tad, it cange change the rating. i can do without the sex, and the swearing.

I want violence with my R-rated horror movie, not some wanna-be cheap "scary" thrill.

oh but there is violence. evil dead-esque violence, well more like army of darkness-esque violence. theres blood and the main character takes a beating, and theres death, and blood. just not so much on the gore front i hear

i just want to know why bruce campbell is not in the movie in some way

This movie was nothing like evil dead. You people are GRASPING with that.. I mean seriously? I did however enjoy this. I wouldn't say it was "great" but entertaining. I hated the main character and her boyfriend and liked the ended obviously for those reasons.

i watched this last night and liked it a lot.

it's not exactly like evil dead, but it had some of the sam raimi trademarks made famous in the evil dead series. i wouldn't go as far as calling it evil dead 4 though.

I loved the ending though that seems to be most people's biggest complaint...everyone forgot about the coin ahha

wasn't terrible, quite delightful. obnoxious gore. kinda had a spark of evil dead or at least a nod to the production. i like the lenses they used, made it look late 80's early 90's.

i remember being psyched for this, downloading it, falling asleep like 10 mins into it and then never bothering to try to watch it again hahah

yeah it's not a fright fest by any means. just has that campy charm that's missing from most horror these days.

Rewatching with that in mind was interesting even if you don't buy that this is what Raimi had in mind

Most subtext in horror is established after the fact; that is, I really doubt Raimi had this in mind when making the film. Kind of like how people say since the second nightmare on elm street was meant to have a female star and the movie is a metaphor for the protagonist coming out of the closet. Any connections are just coincidental, it was just a movie about Freddy trying to get into the real world by possessing a guys body. Although to make that one even more strange, the actual actor in it was gay and had recently come out publically.

NOES2's unsubtle gay overtones make the movie for me, the section of Never Sleep Again that deals with it is hilarious
