pitfall: (mainstage) the vocals remind me of damage but with 1-2 minute hardcore songs instead of 3-4 minute spazzy-metal. I often confuse them with outrage. I think it's the whole marlboro (or marlborough) thing. For the first band, they had a ton of kids there singing along to all their songs. I should grab a free demo from them before the day is out. they were the first band and even ended early.
madball I headlining upstairs over skarhead btw. skarhead is on from 10:15-11 and madball from 11:15-12.
dog pile: (secondstage) even though they got no response from the marlboro[ough] kids, they were pretty good. They reminded me of a lot of the younger edge bands from our area a few years ago. They drove up from NJ to play this fest and have a split coming out.
I think I need to take a trip to starbucks of something to unload the nice slice I ate last night. that is one thing that stinks about club hell/jerky's... no poop stoop. I need to figure out a way to do it in my car while driving into a [mostly] empty dunkin donuts cup.
my only freedom: (mainstage) so this is product of waste playing different music. 100% intelligible overtly political lyrics. Driving distorted bass and guitar solos... This is basically their grunge or rage against the machine side project from what I can tell.
unforgiven: (secondstage) the one guitar player (stage left) was in another CT band that I've shot, but I can't think of who it is yet. Pretty much like a lot of late 90's se hardcore bands with their sound and the semi-clique lyrics. They were the first band that got people off their asses upstairs.
local bands that need to play next year: minderaser, I rise, ignorance, word for word, the nasty.
strength for a reason: (mainstage) way way way too early for a band this good to be playing. Any of the idiots who stayed home instead of seeing these guys should curl up and die. The response they got for this time in the afternoon ruled. They had tons of people dancing and singing for them. Probably more than they would if they had played later. They only played one new song which hd a huge huge (that's double huge) two step part.
The bonus army, defeater, living hell are a few man bands that also need to get on the next fest.
carrier, the: (secondstage) this band all sorts of blew up and it's weird to see them basically opening something. They pulled it off well and had a large crowd for them. Of course people sang a long though I would have thought there would have been more people singing along for them. I love how this band tells little storis in their songs like MLIW, but deliver it much tougher and with the audience dancing more violently. I made up my own little story during their set about the singer starting this band to fund raise for his leg tattoo. It's like one of those easter seals thermometers in your downtown. The song they ended with wasn't fooling around
cruel hand: (mainstage) one of the simple pleasures I knew I would get off this show was watching a full cruel hand set. That's 3 whole levels of clothing changes for the singer! As he goes from fall in maine to ulimate fighter. They always put on an excellent show, even this time where the drummer went to the hospital and the long haired guitarist filled in on drums. He drummed perfectly so no worries there.
inhuman: (secondstage) they were ok. Not as high energy and more on the punk-metal side of things. I had thought they were an nydm band. They had 2 members of subzero playing with them. Subzero needs to play next year.
P O W: (mainstage) this set was pretty crazy. Smoke machines, switching up drummers, street poetry, and bright lights. This was a much better performance than their set at the icc imho. And thank you to colin for turning the smoke machine on. I saw it there and almost asked sickmosh to turn it on. Honestly, their set could only benefit by more moshsmoke.
hammer bros: (secondstage) probably one of the most intense sets I've ever seen them play. How the audience members will have the energy to go off during later bands I do not know. Awesome.
colin of arabia: (mainstage) smoke machine ftw! Whom ever thought this would be a good idea is my hero. Set ruled. They sent out songs to matt rowe and devin. That was nice of them. Colin told us to wear body armor tomorrow. Maybe I will... Maybe I will... this is the first time I have ever seen coa come close to being cut off on stage. some how, they went over their time.
Im starving now... Ugh... All I can smell are french fries too.
crown of kings: (secondstage) short set. Very very short set. They had 2 fill ins and one missing player. I think they played maybe 4 possibly 5 songs.
Im getting a tofu and cheese sub. There is a subshop upstairs. unfortunately, I only have 5 minutes until the mongoloids start.
the sub shop is in jerky's. I think they are out of tallboys again. they ran out of them last night too.
mongoloids, the: (mainstage) these guys played most of their set while I tried to stuff a tofu and cheese sub thing into my mouth. It had all sorts of things that I don't eat... But I just stuffed it in my pie hole. People seemed down with them. I really don't know their music and confuse them with wrongside.
intent to injure is on now. im going to shoot most of their set and then run to my car for a minute or two.
intent to injure: (secondstage) great band, terrible photographer. I ran out to my car and heard tem starting up a cover of depression. Wtf! I hope that 1/3 coffee I sucked down was worth it, Faggot.
death threat: (mainstage) I have no idea how the guitar player (who's name escapes me, but I think is wes) was able to stand up for their set. He was wasted for C.O.K. This was a much more superior set to the icc one. That show was missing something, this show was not. It was perfect wasted DT.
wisdom in chains: (secondstage) apparently WIC is now sexy time. I mean, these dudes look alright. They had like a ton of girls on stage spontaneously singing for them. It was like a girl tabernacle chorus of girls. There was also making out in the crowd. This was serious the response I have always wished they got. This pushes the living room show out of the top in thatg regards. It was also awesome to see people male and female from teens to 45 rocking and singing to these guys. Bravo to the fans who raged in the from row.
breakdown: (mainstage) idk if I've heard them or seen them, but I've heard those vocals before. Good stuff. I was worried about my car their whole set cause the mongoloids got their van broken into at some point.

skarhead: (secondstage) I never liked them so I never get into covers or anything that anyone does. They were your bassic hardcore mixed with rap and spread over a party. They had a million people up on stage, 3 of them were singing, 2 dudes from madball, 2 girls dancing and then their crew backing them up. A lot lf people on that stage. Add myself and a couple other stage potatoes and it turns the stage into more of a corral than a stage. The set was fun, but I didn't know a single song. The room was completely filled. Mostly with people dancing/singing along. There was also that 10yo kid who got up and played drums on with them.
