Oh, gojira requested a barricade so there is a barricade. I can shoot all bands with flash except gojira. With gojira I get the first 3 songs and then im outta hear. damn, I could probably have timed it well enough to shoot midnight.
mark rizzo: this guys is an amazing guitarist. He is the the reasn to watch soulfly imho (except the drum circle stuff). He was hampered compared to he usual stage show because 1) they only had the room in front of the other bands equipment and 2) cause his solo stuff is so much harder to play. Not much in the way of jumping. At one point the crowd moved, but it was mostly just hands folded. For the last part of the last song, there was a push pit.
car bomb: with in 10 minutes, they transformed the stage into and enchanted and exotic rave setting. Hang a few mountain scenes behind them and I would have sworn I was at mount fuji getting ready to tripballs to some bitch house crunk jam drum n bass tribal bs. They sounded almost as good as the great scotts show and this time had their singer. The stage was covered in wires and lights. A bunch of the songs they played were new so I didn't know them. this is a really weird crowd for them, but I think they pulled it off.
I wonder how gojira fans are going to handle the chariot... weird line up is weird.
a lot of people said that same thing. the chariots set was crazy. I thought I was going to get my head taken off over and over. no idea how they can treat their equipment like that and make music.

the lineup was indeed weird, i was right at the barrier basically the whole show unamused until gojira came on, but damn was it worth it...

When bands tell you no flash photography and then make you stop after 3 songs, this will happen.
yeah, I got pretty angry with the lack of any lighting during gojira too. I too almost 500 pictures of them to get the unpostable pictures that I posted.
