as for the oxfam myspace, they are a separate entity from us and it takes them a while to add a show, especially at short notice.

It would be awesome if Gira read excerpts from "The Consumer", his collection of short stories.

the show starts at 8:30 and there is one opener (renato montenegro). gira is playing a 90 minute set and he'll probably end around 11:30 so there should be ample time to make the t.

Drone? Don't know about that. Acoustic folk? Yes. Awesome? Obviously. I just want to know what was up with that kid getting up in front of Gira and interrupting his set? Kid felt like a douche when he called him out on it.

too bad a lot of people thought this show was a fake. next time make sure its correctly listed. i looked around the internet and only saw the lemmingtrail thread that was about 2 posts deep and people were questioning it there too....

When I googled it to check it's legitimacy, a number of pages came up promoting it. Apparently this was all very short notice, as Gira mentioned that he didn't even know he had this gig until about 5 days ago...

"next time make sure its correctly listed"...what exactly was wrong with the listing? it was posted on gira's official site, last.fm, and a number of boards. i've posted many previous applejam shows here and there was no reason to doubt my cred.

anyhow, we had a great turnout and thanks to the several RTTP people i saw there.

not surprised to hear that Gira got pissed at someone, he always gets snarky with people in the audience. Happened every time I've seen him. You can hear it on the various live albums (there's a whole track of him chewing someone out on Feel Good Now).

Haha, yeah. Well this particular dude just walks through a sea of kids sitting down on the floor and gets right up in Gira's vicinity, after just having begun a new song. He's snooping around directly next to him as he's trying to play, and he had to stop to ask the kid if he was good, and what his problem was. The kid just started mumbling awkwardly and said he was just trying to help him out. Help him out with what exactly? No one had a clue. Gira shook his head and everyone just starts cracking up. It was kind of bizarre.

not trying to doubt your street cred. i just didnt find out about the until yesterday from a thread on lemmingtrail and a few people were questioning it. if they werent saying "is this real?" then i would have been all over it. i guess the joke was on me.

That kid was awesome. I thought Gira's voice could have stopped a train and I am really happy I nearly killed several bostonians to get to this little shit cafe that rich losers hang out at. The place reeked of class. He was good though.
