CENTURY ANNOUNCES LINEUP CHANGES, PLOTS NEXT ALBUM

The Lancaster, Penn.-based post-metal act CENTURY – whose 2008 Prosthetic debut, Black Ocean, was named one of Revolver Magazine's Top 20 albums of 2008 – were recently rejoined by original drummer Grant McFarland and bassist Ricky Armellino, the respective drummer and vocalist of fellow Lancaster act This Or The Apocalypse. Additionally, the group has announced the addition of guitarist Todd Mogle to its ranks. A photo of the new lineup appears above.

CENTURY has also started work on the follow-up to Black Ocean, and promises both "an exercise in futuristic sonic annihilation" and a "bold step forward stylistically." The as-yet-untitled release is tentatively scheduled for a fall release. In the meantime, the band will play select regional dates – including an appearance at April's New England Metal and Hardcore Festival – and continue working on the video for Black Ocean track "Monolith," a continuation of the clip for the album's title track, which garnered extensive airplay on MTV2's "Headbangers Ball" last year. The band also plans to record a cover of Seal's “Kiss From A Rose” for an upcoming anniversary compilation to be released by Tribunal Records, the label that issued CENTURY's 2006 debut Faith and Failure.

“I'm extremely excited to play Metalfest,” says CENTURY front man Carson Slovak, “and I hope people walk away from the experience thinking I'm really, really cool.”

In addition, Slovak – also an accomplished graphic artist who has designed recent album covers and layouts for All That Remains, Testament and Antagonist, among others – will participate in an artwork-related panel discussion at the inaugural Launch Music Conference in Lancaster on April 17, the day before CENTURY takes the stage in Worcester. CENTURY live:
2/21 Union Ramp Skate Park - West Chester, PA
2/27 Ad Lib Cafe - Lancaster, PA
4/18 Palladium - Worcester, MA (New England Metal and Hardcore Festival)
