New site? Maybe some day.

ok, i have a 93 chrysler concorde.
a month ago, it developed this problem, where anytime it sits in below freezing temps for more than 4 hours, it won't start.
it cranks, but it won't kick over....
we had hoped the problem would go away once it had time in some warmer weather.....it didn't
my first thought was fuel problems.....all lines we're intact, so we replaced the fuel pump, and fuel filter.
car functioned....for 3 weeks.
next i thought, ok, if it's not fuel, it's spark.
plugs, fine, weres, intact....so i replace all the relay switches, the camshaft sensor and the crankshaft sensor.
car worked from last wednesday until last night.
this morning, same shit.
it turns out the cam sensor was either made by a shitty parts company, or we got a defective one (no magnetization)
we get the new one today.....if we put that in and it still doesn't fire.... any suggestions? |
|
can you get to the o2 sensor before the catalytic converter?
i had a 93 ramcharger with a 318 that had that problem. it turned over, and fired up but very sluggishly |
|
i have never had to work on the exhaust, 02 sensor, or cat....so i do not know....but i will definately look into it.
it didn't even dawn on me that could be part of the problem
thanks |
|
.... also....does anyone know if BWD parts are typically just no good/not compatible w/ chrysler |
|
good luck with an early 90s chrysler. that thing must be falling apart now.. |

If you have good insurance:
1. Park facing downhill
2. Cut gas line
3. Light match

the chrysler 318 is an excellent motor. my ramcharger was rotted out with 290K on it but the engine still purred like a kitten

actually, i have had it for to years, and (up util this winter) have not had to do any work aside from replacing the front brakes last year...other than that, just basic maintainence (oil change, oil filter, air filter, plugs, rotating tires etc.).
the thing runs smooth, and faily quietly, i got lucky, bought it off of my grandfathers girlfriend, who bought it brand new in 93, kept up on repairs and maintainence and kept it in a heated, carpeted garage.
i paid 2,000 or it
only had 72,000 miles when i bought it
add on/edit: contrary to popular belief late eighties/early nineties Chrylers and GMs will last quite a while if well taken care of.
it's the crap they put out now that doesn't last |

hahaha your grandfather has a girlfriend. |
he has 3. not even kidding, he is my fuckin hero, haha.
63 years old, 4 bypass surgeries, and he's still a bigger pervert than i am.
two years ago, he was in the hospital showing minimal vital signs, we thought he was dead for sure.....until a hot nurse walked in and he made a very visible tent in the sheets.
a few months ago, and he was back in, he told this gorgeous asian nurse that something was wrong with his catheter, after a minute or so of her fiddling with it, she said "Mr. Johnson, there is nothing wrong with this", he said i know, i just wanted you to play with my dick.
true stories, haha. |

lulz
gotta tell my brother to do that |

my grandfather had 3 girlfriends until his dying day at 98 years old. inspirational!! |
