We have been admirers of OPETH's work for years, especially the direction of their newer works. This is great news for us to take back to our loyal fans and friends in North America at this point; the reception for our newest album, 'Vertebrae', has been fantastic and unforgettable. enslaved should headline their own fucking tour. It should be the other way around.

this is fabulous news.

Always wanted to see them play together but Opeth should not be headlining. I wish they had been able to get Keep of Kalessin on this as was the original plan for Enslaved's headlining tour.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jan 28,2009 9:44am
Opeth would always headline over Enslaved in the states. Opeth is extremely popular here compared to Enslaved

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Jan 28,2009 9:45am
i think it's a great move for enslaved. might win over some newer opeth fans.

toggletoggle post by FuckIsMySignature at Jan 28,2009 9:45am edited Jan 28,2009 9:46am
Opeth has gone on as support for many recent tours such as with Dream Theater and Porcupine Tree

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jan 28,2009 9:47am
enslaved will definitely win over thousands of new fans because of this tour.
then in 2 years you'll have the 15 year olds love their entire catalogue and then you know what happens after that.
pizza parties and sleepovers!!! fuck yea

i just realized the volbeat/nightwish show in hartford is also on 5/1. i wish that tour was coming to worcester so i wouldn't have to miss volbeat. :(

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Jan 28,2009 9:57am
they should combine the opeth/enslaved tour with paganfest and call it awesomefest.

YOU FAIL

toggletoggle post by Aegathis  at Jan 28,2009 9:51pm
As much as I love Enslaved as a band over Opeth, theres no denying the fact that Opeth reigns over Enslaved with an everlasting vengeance as far as album sales and well as far as over all notoriety is concerned. If Enslaved headlined over Opeth it could very well have just as disastrous results as a 24 hour sports network.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Jan 28,2009 9:58pm
that winner of a post must mean you're bringing the fleshlight to the pizza party. the crabs just lost some real estate down there in my duplex.

toggletoggle post by DestroyYouAlot  at Jan 28,2009 10:02pm
Why would you even need a fleshlight when you could have a rolled-up pizza?

Opeth should be headlining for the simple fact that they're the better band. This is just my opinion, of course. That doesn't take anything away from Enslaved, for they're a great band and Frost is one of the best albums I've heard.

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jan 29,2009 9:48am
Different Styles.

toggletoggle post by MODecrepitvde at Jan 29,2009 9:52am
I agree, but they're both metal bands and it doesn't change the fact I'd opt to listen to an early Opeth record over Enslaved. And oddly enough, I've heard a few people that don't like Opeth, compare newer Enslaved to their material, with a description that they're Opeth without the "fluff".

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Jan 29,2009 10:06am
house of blues is general admission, right?

toggletoggle post by arilliusbm  at Jan 29,2009 10:08am
I think Opeth is losing their emotional "touch" in their music.. if you can call it that.
Enslaved, although progressing their sound, still seem to have emotion in their music.
I know people disagree though so I'm not going to argue my point.

seems like a year or two ago there was epic disgust for Opeth from the majority of posters on this board.
