I as just talking to seeker destroyer and astronomer about attending this event. |
our set will hopefully run smoother tonight. |
Keith is.
I'm leaving for this in a few. |
okes. I'm leaving in um... probably 20-ish. |
there want many people here yet. starting in 30 minutes. |
seeker destroyer: their set stared off like one of those bad 80's videos where the band busts into a hotel, sets up in the lobby or the hallway or the elevator. They set up in seconds and rock out while the rest of the room/passers by stand around like SIMS people with ? over their heads. I 'm 1/2 expecting the police to usher them out any second, they slowly melted the ice with the crowd. By the time I made it to the other side of the stage, their were a few people moshing in the back. When their last song started a few more people ran into the back and moshed around like this was a hardcore show and not a hotel lobby. I for one will have to wait and see. |

astronomer: even though these guys corner the market on joes, their members steal hugs, there were no lights, and the joe brownomer didn't fix his broken strap from the night before, they sounded awesome. There were plenty of mistakes and I never got the memo that you need both black haired and be a girl to photograph this show. Still they sounded really good. The fact that they played on the ground and I could move around freely helped. This was the first time since the the church in that W town that had the "legendary" fight that I was able to get some ok shots of joey. |
swallowed up: holy cow. These guys slayed. I had no idea what to expect. They had some er... Like 1 quiet part. The singer was face down on the carpet for that part. Actually, he was face down on the carpet a bunch of times. It was funny cause at this point 1/2 the people in the venue have cameras and are shooting pictures so whenever the singer hits the ground, it's blinding for a few seconds. Again, I'm part of the problem here. Fuck that guy, I'm a huge douche and tool bag so I hear. This band got their van completely stuck outside. They went down the big hill in a van that doesn't/didn't want to ever leave this place. oh and their set ended so abruptly. I thought they would easily play 2 more songs. that will teach me to pause and enjoy the music for a second. |
defeater: is sucks that their set was shorter than usual. For the first time since I went to see the pixies in 2004, I was lsitening to a band all day before seeing them. This ruled. And first time of the night where it wasn't too easy to get in front of the band. When their set was over, one of the in rememberance guys said something like "yeah, I want to play after that"
Blessed burden, nameless streets, the blues, the city by dawn and I forget what else.
*puts the CD back on* |
in remembrance: I honestly wasn't expecting much from their set. Nick looked pretty tanked. But when they started, they got the best response of the night. Plus, the songs they played that were new were really good. |
my favorite part was when your brain exploded into a black and lights show.
when there is no light show, I make my own light show |
rev i only drink for you haha |
