Your school is retarded and buying into the trend of "online" as unreliable.
While using Wikipedia as a direct source usually isn't prudent because of its usually unqualified and in some cases undocumented (see "cited") material, it does denote amendments as either being cited or not-cited.
These citations (the sources, not Wiki itself), along with the external links can be extremely helpful when writing a paper because of the breadth of information that can be added from anyone from scholarly to amateur fact-checkers and historians.
If I was you, I'd make a formal complaint. Your school should not block sites because some students don't understand what is valued and credible information, and what is unfounded information. Probably the same geniuses who ask "what is MLA" each semester. |

I agree with everything you say... except the MLA thing, because i was one of those kids who did the drugs, and not college. So i don't know what it means. what is MLA? |

mutant liberation association. either that or the people's front of judia. |
|
Also, they might have blocked it for bandwidth reasons, as I remember some schools have blocked YouTube for crashing servers.
If that's the case, well, your school is no longer retardedly biased, rather thin on the internet front.
It's all about the girth.
If it was blocked due to poor usage, however, refer to above blurb and tell your administrators to UGNNNNNHHH, SUCK IT. |

Wikipedia is 100% plagiarized and paraphrased. There are better sources to find on all important topics. The school's right by cutting out the lazy bibliography site! |

I don't see how that is constructive at all.
Of course there are better sources, they're called first-hand accounts. Even libraries, filled with books, which, unless subject to misprint, are the most trusted tangibles to finding exactly what is said, what is meant, and by whom.
That is not relevant, however, as many of these SOURCES are the ones CITED on WIKIPEDIA, which means by proxy that WIKI CAN BE USEFUL, my original point.
You're not a conservationist, you're an idealist.
Oh, and guess what else are 100% plagiarized and paraphrased? Research(ed) papers.
Now go find some obscure articles about how everyone is wrong and you're right, so you can play preservationist. |
|
I'm sending an email later today to the to see what kind of response i get. Probably not one. |
|

DO ME, FORGET ABOUT SCHOOL. |
LOLZ. |

Download child pornography in protest. Better yet, upload child pornographies that you yourself made to show them you're serious.
... Or are you a pussy??? |

FUCK OFF!! |
|
I talked to the student representative about this and he said that apparently a teacher caught a kid looking at some "offensive" page on wikipedia (ex. sex, anal sex blah blah) and told the network dude to ban the whole website and he did. Apparently its being worked on. |

Have I got a solution for you!
