Will destroy a huge chunk of the Midwest. We'd feel it over here, but mostly because the ASH will be raining down and the sun will be covered for a long time. It would affect the Earth in such a way that large amounts of people would die. aweesome.

you realize that we'd be living in a constant night time for quite sometime and we'd all have to sit in front of lights eventually. aside from the mass amount of deaths near the epicenter, the suicide rate would skyrocket, people would die all over the world because their crops and domesticated animals are dying, and chaos would ensue. it would be the most devastating thing in all of recorded history. it would perhaps even bottleneck our civilization.
cellphones and various other electronics won't work either.
