Got to see this tonight, and I must say it was entertaining as all hell. Anyone who is not familiar with Will Eisner's work at all should NOT go see it, because you most likely won't get it at all. Frank Miller definitely did this justice; I've heard he was criticized for making the movie his own thing, but anyone who knows enough about Frank Miller knows that he idolized Will Eisner and owes most of his trademarks to the inspiration he got from Eisner anyway. Motherfuckers. The humor in this movie is so odd but captures The Spirit perfectly, the visuals are amazing, the violence is outlandish and Eva Mendes is the hottest fucking woman on the goddamn planet.
