This is honestly one of the best things I have ever heard in my entire life. Seriously, this album is the pinnacle of perfectly recorded music. Thank God for Pink Floyd. And no, this isn't the first time I've ever heard this but it's a different experience on vinyl. The sound is richer and organic.

I don't doubt it

Pink Floyd sucks, fuck off.

DSotM is far from Pink Floyd's best album. It's okay to love it, I just wish people flipped out over more than this and The Wall.

i think wish you were here is my favorite pink floyd album. But that might be because thats the album my parents played most when i was a kid. I distinctly remember one time when i was probably 7 or 8 that i came downstairs at night because i smelled a "skunk" and Have a Cigar was playing while my parents were smoking a doob.

I have the more recent 180 gram reissue, and it sounds unbelievably good. Came with some sweet posters too.

My favorite is still "Meddle" though. That LP sounds amazing.

I'm a huge PF fan, but "Animals" just never did it for me. I love the 2 acoustic songs that open and close it, but the stuff in between just doesn't hold my attention. It sounds a little dated to me, unlike [most] of their other albums, which are timeless.

Everything post-Waters is utter crap.

Agreed, though i'm not a huge fan of the pre-Meddle material either

I've always like Meddle the most.
But, I wouldn't say PF is my favorite Brit-prog band. King Crimson, Moody Blues, (even some of Tull) and a few others should be mentioned as well.

I was just listening to Starless and Bible Black. Drugs.

'Echoes' is flawless musical perfection.

sidenote: has anyone ever heard Les Claypool's Fearless Flying Frog Brigade's album "Live Frogs" where they play the entire "Animals" album live?

...amazing

If you want to be placed into another reality/experience tonight follow this link. ITs a musician famous for his MOOG stuff that I have been a fan of since back when, If you like tangerine dream and stuff like that you may be impressed, this is old stuff, it has dust on it even. So check this out. This is a big influence for us...

From the Black Mass Lucifer album way back when:

and from a fucked upi experimental album based on vibrations of sound on plant growth, Plantasia:

And from the Wozard of Iz album, which shows some truth actually shared with the original hidden concepts behind the wizard of oz as described by both Mort Garson and the original writter of the Wizard of Oz:
