FIXED.

Man vs Wild > Survivorman
reasons:
1 - More entertaining to watch
2 - Grylls is constintly trying to get out of situations, where as
Stroud sits there for a week.
3 - No complaining, thats all Stroud does and its fucking annoying
4 - who's really going to stay put when lost?

and all the accusations saying its fake and all this, I say wheres the proof?
so some guy said he might have seen Grylls in a hotel sometime that he think he was supposed to be on site? sounds like Stroud trying to get people to watch his boring show.

I know I'm wasting my breath, but I've said my piece.
I watch TV for entertainment, not to watch someone bitch and complain, if thats what I wanted I would watch Reality TV.

In another episode, viewers watched as Grylls tried to coax what seemed like a wild mustang into a lasso in the Sierra Nevada.

"I'm in luck," he told viewers, apparently coming across four wild horses grazing in a meadow. "A chance to use an old Native American mode of transport comes my way. This is one of the few places in the whole of the U.S. where horses still roam wild."

In fact, Weinert said, the horses were not wild but were brought in by trailer.

HAHA! What an asshole.

both guys are impressive in their own right. i have my wilderness first response and i can say that these doods are great because they represent the full spectrum of what the back country experience is and can be in emergency situations.
bear is way more flashy and exciting...he does shit very often that i find myself saying, he really didnt have to do that..but it's tv, and good tv at that.

les is the opposite of flashy (obv...he's canadian), he is more about endurance and decision making. he does all his own camera work with tripods and shit. (that must be tough!) by the same token, his crew is not actually with him. they are usually about 5+ miles away on a designated 'x' on a topo. if the shit hit the fan, what might normally be a half a days walk depending on terrain, could very well be the end of dood.

bear's crew however is with him 24/7 to lend a hand, throw a rope, give first aid, and to film..

any one ever see 'alone in the wilderness?'
dick proenneke makes these doods look like new school fags..

both are cool, but i dig stroud a bit more because of the realism.

you are just butthurt cause your wife thinks hes hot.

bear grylls is much more entertaining. les stroud is more real. they both teach you survival techniques. one stages them and one does it for real. you're still learning from it.

yeah thats how i feel. i don't care if its fake, its still interesting.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Dec 9,2008 1:02pm
I really like the fake that Les does his own camera work and that his directions are simple and almost always the same for each episode.
1) shelter
2) fire
3) deadfall traps

simple things like that help in ever situation.

channel 4 finding bear is a fake
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/6911748.stm

as i stated, i don't have cable/satellite.... but channel 4 pretty much states that "they never claimed he didn't have a support team" and that it's a "how to" series, not a series documenting survival.
