ignorance: alex's (break it up, etc..) new band. This was their CD release show. Amongst all the former band members and friends, they had plenty of people singing along with them. There was a mic set up just for the guest vocals (and for the bassist to sing the back ups on the last song). Not posi, not tuff guy, just good ignorant hardcore. im afraid that the shots at the end are going to have balls in them from all the people playing the new game of headrolling up the people on the stairs beside the stage.
hammer bros: I totally forgot that geisel was in this band. This is one of those bands that I constantly wish had more releases out. I only have one CD so I might be behind the times. Their set was off the wall. This is definitely a prelude of things to come. A few of their songs were just constant wave of people in the crowd lapping over each other. At almost the end of their set, I realized that behind the drummer was wide open. So much room back there that I could fancy walk like crazy. When the singer finally saw the singer from the carrier, he tackled him in the crowd. I believe that's where he gave up on the mic and came back to the stage without it.
this place is getting stuffy as hell. I can't believe that only 2 bands have played and it's this bad in here.
cruel hand: their set was so short. A bunch of songs off the new CD. They come out sounding a lot more pissed off live than on CD. Maybe I just think too much about the have heart CD. Idk. Either way, their set was excellent. A lot of singing a longs. At this point, I'm getting psyched up for COA's set.

colin of arabia: as always one of my favorite live acts ever. This set was too fast but still no let down. It's like a fast pace emotional breakdown. granted the heat went through the roof during their set. so worth it.
death before dishonor: their played an abbreviated set cause their drummer is across the US. Josh (resist, first and ten, hammer bros, etc) filled in for them. I meant to point it out during hammer bros, but that guy is a savage drummer. Not carzy technical, but he drums so heavy. Someone joked to turn down the drums. He could. So loud. Their abbreviated set was still so much fun. Another one of my favorite live acts.
huh.. that sucks... I was all set up on stage and the cro mags kicked me off. that sucks. now im like more than 1/2 way back in the room balancing against the wall. what are the chances of me staying anywhere near here once the music starts? ti ome itty pictures before I get taken out. I fought to get an edge of the stage for the last couple songs. went to go get gs and hit the plaistow shaw's but it's gone... sucks I ended up at walmart.
I liked the slap shot set better cause there were more songs and more songs that I knew. It seemed that the cro-mags took forever to set up and then played really short. I expected that they would play forever... but they only played around 9 songs. They didn't really grab my attention until the last half of their set. that's when they started playing songs that I really cared about. I fought to the stage for the last 3 songs. the last being hard times... I thought I was fucked when that song started off, but I thankfully was ok. Now that I've seen them and harley's war, I can cut them out and paste them together into one show.
i thought they were great and they played long enough. no band should ever play more than 40 mins.
i think i was in there for maybe an hour. lots of dipshit little kids in attendance. i helped a kid off the ground and he gauged my eye and wouldn't let go. i snapped his arm in half and he went away screaming. harharhar definitley a better vibe at the slapshot show but cro-mags killed them.

I was also surprisingly impressed with COA the time I saw them in New London so I will agree with you about them being fun live.
I saw Coke Bust, Brown Sugar, and Positive Noise at a house in Raleigh tonight, so fucking fun, the bands were making a stop in NC before This Is For You Fest. That fest makes living in this state good at this time of year due to bands needing gas money and playing shows on the way down/back home.
