this is pretty badass. if you are expecting With Oden On Our Side 2, you will be disappointed, this isn't just a rehashed version of it. i was kind of expecting it to be, hoping against it, and i'm pleasantly surprised. this sounds more like Versus The World combined with Fate of Norns. the best way i can describe it is that WOOOS was like the savagery of battle, and this is like the feeling of triumph after. the production is different, the vocals are much lower in the mix than its predecessor. i guess really the only drawback is that it doesn't really offer anything new, Amon Amarth pretty much has one sound. however they are very good at their sound, so what they present is quality. i give this an 8.5. best tracks are Guardians of Asgard, No Fear For the Setting Sun, The Hero, and Free Will Sacrifice.

This album is indeed awesome, although I still like WOOOS better. Guardians of Aasgard is one of their most straight-forward tracks and I love it. This is in my albums of the year list.

i do too, but i think this really sets itself apart from WOOOS, in only positive ways. it has great singalong stuff too.

THOR, ODEN'S SON
PROTECTOR OF MANKIND
RIDE TO MEET YOUR FATE
YOUR DESTINY AWAAAAAITS!!

the accompanying DVD is really good too, for those of you who didn't get the Digipack its from the Summer Breeze 2007 performance. my only complaint is that some of the harmonies are a bit off, but the rest is great. and Europe needs to learn how to move during bands, this and the Bloodbath DVD have little movement at all. i wonder if the bands think "if this was the US, these people would be beating the shit out of each other".
