Anyone know of any place that sells rare/vintage/odd/old/retro guitars in the Boston, south of Boston or Providence area?

Looking for 60's style guitars.

Thanks.

Boston guitar works prices are terrible.

They are selling used LTDs on that site for more then what they went for new.

toggletoggle post by brian_dc  at Sep 21,2008 11:25am
well, BGW isn't where you go to buy LTD's

It just goes to show if their upcharge on the bottom line garbage used guitars is nutty what are they getting away with on their top end gear?

Cambridge Music always has something awesome in terms of gear. Really worth checking out, great shop.

rock city guitars in somerville had the best gear and prices around, until it got replaced by a fucking cupcake store.

I dunno man. I bought my Bad Cat there for the same price I could find anywhere on the web, plus I didn't have to pay shipping. And the invaluable thing was that I was actually able to play the thing. There aren't many places where you can come in with your guitar, sit down and play a Bad Cat, Orange, VHT, Diezel, ENGL, THD, Bogner, Dr. Z, Savage, Budda, Framus, etc etc and really figure out what all the fuss is about all of those boutique names. They've also got an amazing selection of effects. There are a ton of other places where you can stumble upon cheap Korean imports and get a sense of what they're about.

There business model is working because they don't pour money into competiting with discount stores like GC or Daddy's or anything like that.

who would want to own an ltd anyway?
alot of stores mark up used shitty guitars way higher because they never sell anyway. if they actually do sell, chances are the kid buying it is a total fucking moron anyway, so why not make a few extra bucks off of them?

toggletoggle post by Olde Geeza at Sep 23,2008 9:33am
by the way, why does Daddy's Junky Music have to suck soo bad???

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Sep 23,2008 9:47am
G Guitars is a sensual playground. You see the amps & effects, too? They even have great stuffs for you four-stringers. We should seriously have an RTTP field trip. Place is 15 minutes from my apartment and the food in the area is rather bitchin. I can imagine dudes like Blue and Fish fapping through Costco-issued family-sized boxes of Kleenex (with the aloe).

is it bad that I've started to eye fuck Orange heads?

The ENGL and Bad Cat sound great A/B'd but with the material for the main band changing and my starting a Black/Death project I'm starting to think that the ENGL might go to be strictly used for the metal project and the idea of Orange/Bad Cat A/B gives me 40 erections

what the hell is wrong with me, I don't have this kind of money.

this will have to be eye masturbation over eye fucking.

That store sorta looks awesome, goat. I don't think I could live 15 minutes from a place like that.

Which Bad Cat do you have? I used the Black Cat up at God City. That thing sounds sooooo huge.

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Sep 23,2008 12:33pm
Oh, I try to stay away. My drummer lives about 3 mins from it. I can't wait til this leg heals and I can resume my bank robbing.

I've got the Bad Cat Lynx 50 (aka credit card debt for a year). I love the thing. The mid cut control is absolutely insane. I think it should be required by any discerning studio to at least test drive the thing.
