Hopefully nothing stupid happens, last time hatebreed played the asylum, somthing like 5 years ago, some idiots got violent, and the asylum had no more metal or hardcore, except for a few shitty local shows, until this.

Im very impressed. With a barricade the asylum really is a great place for a show. The sound is perfect with the barricade cause people are held back far enough to hear the PA.

catalepsy: they played 1 song before anyone got in the rooom. The singer (who lookd a lot like murph) lost his voice so the merch guy took over. He did a pretty good job. Sort of FASSWish metalcore. They had the same bass drop that WOA had. Sounded like an 808 or something. Not a reall bass drop. Less overt. There was a tiny bit of movement for them. Mostly just people excited to be in the door at a hatebreed show.

yeah this place should do this more often. I like it. I hope nothing gets fucked up. I'm standing close to my bag and one of the exit.

Oh and the bouncers are totally chill. They were militant at the door about no back packs and I got the metal detector treatment. Still they seem like good guys.

War of Ages: I vaguely remember them from a palladium show. Though I really like that first CD on facedown, it seems like they have put out way too many CDs so there is a lot of material there that I could.t possibly know. Stil ,ltheir set (like catalepsy before them), sounded really tight. In the end when they talked about jesus, I remember them exactly from the other hsow. Makes me sad that I missed that danville show. At this point the room was getting pretty full. They had plenty of people dancing for them too. Seems like the building up of a goodnight.

soilent green: somehow they are playing before emmure. Did emmure totally blow up? Just seems weird... Though music-wise, I guess it makes more sense since people will be pumped from emmure and stay pumped for HB. At first SG being on the tour made no sense to me until I heard 1/2 the people here talking about damage plan like they actually liked it. Damage plan -> pantera -> NOLA metal. Makes senses to me. They had to blaze through the through the short time they had cause of the impending end of the sow and 80's night. I didn't ask what time the show has to be over yet... But early. Im going to guess that everyone has to be out of here and the 80's dancers in here by 11. Their last song had a single dude in the audience singing along. Seemed to go over very well. lots of horns through out the set and there were a few guys in the piits moshing it up.

emmure: with the pure number of beatdowns this band has, I hope some dude doesn't get violent during their set. They started 10 minutes late. Oh well. Im pretty sure maine kids are going off for this. The room is totally full. There are people push pitting with their shirts off, karate kicking, and drunkenly grinding along with emmure. Then the singer asked people to put someone on the ground, the response was a fight.the drunken grinding is ridiculously hilarious because well.. Im not going to go into details. I think they got a new drummer. I also think that my comparison with the singer's movements and the twitchy things from jacobs ladder is still apt.

one the that is cool is that all the "maine hardcore" band members are here. so im making fun of a lot of the buzzards who are here, but the people who took the hardcore that hatebreed originally put out and ran it off it in to good directions do not fall in to the same category. needless to say.

Hatebreed played with Soilent Green huh?
i always find it funny when they play with metal bands.....since they called metal "washed up" before every member of the band and fifty of their weak ass friends jumped Seth Putnam.

50 floorpunchers vs. one drunk dude.....real tough guys

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 12,2008 9:02am
yes, we were all there.
I was just pissed cause I didn't get to see AC
though I would have loved to seem hatebreed and THEN AC.
misfits downstairs at the same time with michael graves SUCKED DICK.

toggletoggle post by orgymf@work at Sep 12,2008 9:08am
yeah, i hate Graves era Misfits.
i was also angry about not seeing AC that night.
the worst part was Hatebreed fucked up that whole night, if they had just put their ego on the backburner and played third stage like they were supposed to, we could have seen AC

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 12,2008 9:18am
I wold be lying if I said that I didn't want to catch hb and human's being on the 3rd stage. I just had no clue where it was.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Sep 12,2008 1:56pm
I'd say there was at least 100.. maybe 120 in there. maybe more.
the room makes it look like there is a ton of people in there even when there isn't.

Hatebreed = FAAAAIIIILLLLLLLL

hatebreed: for a lot of the people in the crowd, the highlight of their hatebreed existence has been that "sick" time they "fuckin" saw h8breed at ozzfest. Mr. Jasta must never sleep. Under 2 weeks ago it was jasta touring. Now back with hatebreed? Weird. The bass during the sound check was near sterilizing. Their set was pretty good. Full of all the songs they usually do and some extras that they "haven't played in years". They did play one never song. If you don't know the current line up, they now have 2 guitarists. The newer song (which they wrote with a 2nd guitarist) had less use of 2 guitars than their older stuff. All in all it was a show full of excited kids and old people alike. HB might not be for everyone, but their shows are still highly entertaining.

went to the hartford show last night. good times. soilent green was amazing but goatcatalyst will still argue that emmure was better.
