It's basically a giant atom smasher, but has the potential to replicate the big bang and may end up creating unforeseen and uncontrollable anomalies in the fabric of space and time.

OH YEAH THAT'S RIGHT!

I've been looking foward to this. Some people are afraid it's gonna generate a black hole right here on Earth.

I'm gonna be in a job interview as they're doing this on Sept. 10, as well. Wow.

I listened to an interview on this on NPR. Anything that happens will be very contained. Collisions like the ones they're doing happen in our atmosphere every second. They just want to recreate them in a controlled environment. They want black holes to show up. If they do, they'll be incredibly small and not last very long.

the big bang is an out-trend in science... why are they bothering with this?

the new and more logical thing is that the universe is constantly expanding, multi-dimensional, and applied to string theory.

I'm not going to stop you. Although official rape night is usually Thursday.

Did you really just say that string theory is logical?

Yeah, no.
