Anyone still have their old magazines from the 90s?
I was reading an Electronic Gaming Monthly from 1992 or 1993 and was reading all the Genesis / SNES reviews, etc.
Then I jumped a couple years and started reading the Hype about Playstation coming out. It's fucking hilarious to read.

i was in EGM at one point. Lil ol pic of me at a convention. Coolest point in my childhood. I used to really like reading those.

toggletoggle post by timma at Sep 2,2008 12:56pm
I had a shitload of those that I threw away a few years back...stupid stupid decision. EGMs and GamePros up the wazoo...review/preview of like...Sega CD, 3DO, Jaguar, and that other system from Philips..I think it was like CD-i or something?

toggletoggle post by ouchdrummer   at Sep 2,2008 12:57pm
yeah, cd-i. i previously forgot about that until a couple threads ago someone brought it up. I loved the 3DO, the racing game that came wit it was sick. I think it was crash and burn.

I brought it up LOL

But yea, these magazines are awesome. I have dozens of them. Do you think they'd go for anything on EBAY?

I have a few old PC Gamers but I don't know why. I've never played a PC game in my life.

toggletoggle post by aril at Sep 2,2008 1:17pm
I have this PC Gamer magazine with a computer on the cover and it says "THE ULTIMATE GAMING MACHINE"

specs were like 220mhz 32mb RAM, etc. Those comptuers were wayyy too expensive back then. I think it came with a 14.4 or 28.8 modem.
The former "ULTIMATE GAMING MACHINE" is now a piece of shit computer that won't run jack shit.
The PC Gamers and PC Games magazine used to have ads for Alienware computers. they were always jacked way the hell up and were like 5k.

My friend had a quasi "ultimate gaming machine" that he built and we played Doom and Rise of the Triad on it for hours. Then I brought home the 3000 installation disk and my shit compy wouldn't even load the first levels. Thing had enough problems running AOL 2.0

toggletoggle post by aril at Sep 2,2008 1:27pm
I don't know if I even remember 2.0. When did that come out? I think I had 1.5

doubt it..i think they sell back issues

toggletoggle post by aril at Sep 2,2008 2:29pm
you sure about that?
I'm going to look into it.
I'm going to try to sell a bunch of "CRAP" I have sitting around. most of it is from the 90s and 80s. Thing is, I think I'm still stuck in the 90s.

I read my old Game Informers all the time. Since I still play old games on a regular basis, it makes a lot of sense for me to do so.

toggletoggle post by aril at Sep 2,2008 3:01pm
I remember reading in one of the Gamepros that Clayfighter was going to be one of the best games of all time... and then it flopped.

toggletoggle post by timma at Sep 2,2008 3:27pm
Hahaha, I remember that. Frosty was supposed to be the big bad ass video game villian.

To bad it was overshadowed by Shaq Fu.

toggletoggle post by aril at Sep 2,2008 3:29pm
Shaq Fu sucked.
Primal Rage (dinosaur fighting game), which was made by Blizzard no less, sucked as well.

toggletoggle post by timma at Sep 2,2008 4:31pm
I had Primal Rage on a Midway Arcade Classics disc for ps2...pretty funny how bad yet good it is.

Vectorman kicked ass. This you cannot deny.

toggletoggle post by rbass at Sep 2,2008 4:36pm
I like Primal Rage but it has really sloppy controls

Killer Instinct for snes was sweet

toggletoggle post by timma at Sep 2,2008 4:41pm
I remember spending HOURS...I mean HOURS trying to do all the 22+ hit "killer" combos, humiliations, and fatalities for Killer Instict.

Hours well spent...Cinder was the man. "IIIIIINNNNFERNOOOO"
