New site? Maybe some day.

Ok, so I'm without health insurance. I don't feel sick, but I've had diarrhea for a good 2 weeks now. Its more of an annoyance than anything, but I think its starting to dehydrate me (I was getting dizzy at hockey, and I can drink a quart of water at once). I had an amoeba or something once that I killed with antibiotics. I like eating sushi, so I'm wondering if maybe I have a parasite. Any thoughts? |
|
Could be KarmaAids. My friend left for the Peace Corp in Uganda, and I kept teasing him about how his womanizing ways would get him aids. Ironically, he's there to create AIDS awareness. |
|
find a free health clinic somewhere, or lie and use one of your friends health insurance to see a dr. |
|
Go to the emergency room, and don't pay the bill. It won't ruin your credit, and after a while, they will stop bothering you. |

bingo. when i had a kidney stone i didn't have health insurance, the bill was 5000, after about 3 years it went down to about 200, and then they stopped billing me altogether. |

sounds very ameobic to me bro.
how interesting that once i actually had dysentery from drinking bad water up on mt. guyot in NH back when i was 21.
anyways,
if you can, go to your health food store and get some fungistatin tablets and monolaurin. do your research cause not every health food store will have this stuff...said remedies are NOT harmful to you in any way, at any dosage. this shit is super powerful and pretty cheap which is why the AMA and the pharm. co's. do not want you to know about it. they'd rather you stay stupid, sick, and in fear...why not, they got a monopoly on your sickness.
drink tons of water, dont drink booze or beer obviously that shits alive to and will aid the ameoba's proliferation. furthermore stay away from anything fermented or containing yeast. yes, bread too..IF you mind your minor, and you grab what i told you to, you will be fine in a week. these remedies are not very expensive at all, especially relative to a trip to the hospital sans insurance.
good luck! |
|
haha, you got the scoots.
if liking to eat sushi means you got a parasite, then I got a parasite and there is only one thing that can fill that parasite, more sushi. |
|
the chances of you getting a parasite from food is very slim. food typically gives you e.coli. Though you could have any one of a number of bugs, but you've possibly got 99 problems and a bitch ain't one of them |
|
Ken Sooshi definitely gives me diarrhea. |

kinda untrue. Your chances of getting sick are relatively slim but because sushi can contain raw seafood, it does run a higher risk of potential sickness than cooked foods.
That being said, the purpose of the wasabi, ginger, soy sauce, and other fixins aren't just eaten for their complementary flavors; they're eaten with sushi for their positive bacteria-warding effects.
haha. all in all, you could just hang out at home and eat slices of american cheese all day to counter the mudd. |

mmm....64 slices of american cheese. 64....63.... |

I've had diarrhea for the past 2 years. I should probably stop drinking. |
|
I'll most likely try the cheese method, though I realize that is not curing me, only treating my symptoms. I'm gonna look further into this not paying your ER bill. If its true, it may be worth the day waiting next to recent self amputees. Thanks for the health food store suggestion, but I'm a straight edger who doesn't like taking tylenol. I'm very very wary of ingesting anything that isn't food. Much appreciated everyone. Could it be as simple as irritable bowel syndrome? Its like 3 times a day now. |
|
you should try going to a free clinic. then you won't have to worry about avoiding bills. |

Do you know how to find one? I live in Lincoln. I know there's an urgent care here, but I don't think thats the same thing. |

"I think I'm blind..." |

here's what i got for a "chronic diarrhea for 2 weeks or more" search:
Chronic Diarrhea
There are many causes of chronic diarrhea; these may be different for children and adults. Causes of chronic diarrhea can be grouped into two categories: diarrhea caused by an infection and diarrhea not caused by an infection. Sometimes, the cause of chronic diarrhea remains unknown.
Diarrhea caused by an infection may result from:
* Parasites, such as: Cryptosporidium parvum, Cyclospora cayetanensis, Entamoeba histolytica, Giardia lamblia, microsporidia
* Bacteria, such as: Campylobacter, Clostridium difficile, Escherichia coli, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella enteritidis, Shigella
* Viral infections, such as: HIV, rotavirus, Norwalk agent
Diarrhea not caused by an infection may result from:
* Antibiotics
* High blood pressure medications
* Cancer drugs
* Crohn’s disease
* Colitis
* Diabetes, thyroid and other endocrine diseases
* Food additives (sorbitol, fructose, and others)
* Food allergies
* Previous surgery or radiation of the abdomen or gastrointestinal tract
* Tumors
* Reduced blood flow to the intestine
* Heredity--certain diseases occur more often in related family members. |

|

not yet, but y'all are making me feel more concerned than I did. Thanks for the caring. I may suck it up and just pay a Dr. Hate to spend the money if its not a big deal in the end though. My experience with Dr.s has typically been "hmm I don't know, but those symptoms don't seem bad enough to do further more invasive tests. I could put you on Medication X that may or may not treat it with definite adverse side effects" |

Coming to RTTP for medical advice? Amazing. |

Coming to RTTP for medical advice? Amazing. |
Well like I said, I'm uninsured, so I don't have many places to turn. Also, I figured I'd get a wide breathe of knowledge with so many posters. PLUS, gore obsessed death metallers have inadvertently picked up some handy and factual medical knowhow, not that I'm letting anyone perform backroom surgery. |
|
I would strongly suggest getting insured or trying to get on MassHealth. |
|
Kaopectate unless you have other symptoms. Probably a transient bug. Get lots of sleep. Don't have gay sex with black men you haven't known for a long time. |
|
just read the lyrics to Carcass' Necroticism. you'll find all of the medical advice you need there. |

this is precisely the reason why medical insurance is so expensive |
|
My thoughts exactly. Glad my money could help you all out. |
