I don't want to sound like an uber-hippie, but the environment is awesome. Nature beckons me all the time, and I love the woods. It reminds me of what this planet used to be, before everything was modernized and humans took over. I sometimes with I was born a Celtic Druid over 2000 years ago, but oh well.
Any moderniztion and knocking down trees / flattening ground / and putting manmade structures in its place is indeed wrecking a habitat of any animal. It's what this world has come to though, and we can't ignore it.
