I'd catch this for the rest, maybe leave before Amon Amarth. Dig the band, but they're a snoozefest live |

i actually managed to sleep through an amon amarth set in 2002. well worth it, i was tired as hell. |
nice, they are great live. |
everytime I've seen AA, something with the sound was off. I wouldn't say they're a snoozefest because I love a lot of their songs, but something isn't right every time. |
Ensiferum and Belphegor! Fuck yes! |
yeah the Palladium does, as usual, leave something to be desired, but i thought the last show was damn good. Death in Fire live is awesome. |
I'm so angry that the Calgary date is 18+
I'm 17 and yet Amon Amarth, Ensiferum and Belphegor are 3 of my favourite bands. This sucks |
why the hell does Trivium attract a crowd? Honestly? What the hell is so good about that band.... |
dude they are some sick metal brah. they are the face of awesomeness. |
.......and...........
who's goin'?
Fuck the Palladium |
i'm going
i want to know if I'm the only one going to the Heathen Crusade this year too.. |
i'm going. i do enjoy me some AA, ensiferum, belphegor...haven't checked out that other band tho |
yet to see Amon Amarth live. wish to do so. |
they're unbelievable. One of the best live metal bands. |
i can't wait for this or the new album. i love Death in Fire live. |
the new song on their mespace is out of control |
i've read a bunch of reviews and everyone is praising it and giving it a 10. i hope it follows suit. |
I'll go for the CD/DVD and sweet picture LP but BOBBLEHEDZ COMEON they all look the same!
that's some Viking merch right there |
It looks like Belphegor wont be playing the first date of this tour, Disney does not approve of the subject matter. |
Watchoo talkin bout, Willis? |
well as long as we liberal Massachusetts jesus haters get to see Belphegor, I don't give a fuck about Anaheim |
Less Satanism and more anti-semitism and you'd be all set. |
that'd be kinda like David Chapelle as the KKK guy |
Just sayin - pander to the predilictions of ol' Walt. |
Rev. you are on the guest list. |
will be there for belphegor. can't get enough of that band. never seen them live either. |

unfortunatly we dont get to play for very long, 30 minute set. |
that sucks. especially since i'm driving over an hour alone to pretty much see just belphegor. the other bands are good, but i wouldn't go if belphegor wasn't playing. |
I'm there and getting pizzad to shizzot the absence. |
parking lot adventures, anyone? |
blargh, going to miss the sox because of this show. oh well, i'll check the score periodically. |
Saw this last night in Montreal. Fucking great show. Belphagor sounded tighter than when I saw them with Rotting Christ. Seemed like their set was longer too. Everyone else was great. Besides the absence who I missed.. |
are you going to the one in worcester? |
So pissed that I can't make this. Kick some fucking ass Anthony!!! |
parking lot adventures, anyone? |
i plan on being quite hammered beforehand, may stumble down there early |
alright, just look for me wearing the ATS shirt with the alien on it |
haha nice. yeti and a couple of our friends may be going too but he's goin to dimmu tonight so i don't know if he is gonna come tomorrow. |
which parking lot...in back or across the st.? |
haha, i was joking about the ATS shirt. I'm not that obsessed.
yea, parking lot in the back with the levels. that's where everyone usually hangs out. usually in the back level or the one right below against the wall. |
ok. i'll be the fucked up guy. |
there's going to be a mass of fucked up guys. if Yeti goes, I'm sure i'm sure i'll notice him if he's back there. he's not that hard to miss |
I may be there...its not sold out or anything is it? |
there's no way this'll sell out if that opeth show didn't.
unless amon amarth is much more popular than I thought. 2 years ago they were opening for Children of Boredom and that wasn't sold out |
IF i go? i was only offered a chance to go to Dimmu, i wouldn't give up Amon Amarth for Dimmu. hell no. i'll be at this with bells on. i am so amped for Death in Fire live. |
i am undecided about this show. wish the palladium had a tv with the sox game on. |
i'll be calling 1-800-555-tell all night to check up on the score |
or, if someone has a nice I-phone with streaming capabilities you could watch it on that too |

ok then...hammered it is |
bump...cant wait for belphegor! |
this is going to be the longest 7 hour wait EVAR! |
there is a show upstairs too. they are looking at over 1000 so far and their are people all down the side.
the absence 8-8:30
belphegor 8:45-9:20
ensiferum 9:40-10:20
amon amarth 10:40-midnight |
wait are you saying this is close to selling out since the upstairs isn't open?
awe... anthony called me and put me on thei list. nice of him. |
haha just heard one of the bouncers say you can tell who they're here for by the way their dressed. some real faggy shit must be going on upstairs lol. |
upstairs is two pop punk bands and some acustic bands |
this needs to be a 21plus show. WAY too many fourteen year old girls and stupid kids down here trying to protect their girlfriends in the pit. and did they just stop playing and justice for all by metallica for the new garbage? |
the absence: after being stuck with an older camera at the mentors so carina could shoot modanna, it was so good to be back using my D3. The absence are a great live band cause they engage the audience a lot.
Belphegor: some technical difficulties before they played, but from where I was they has some of the best sound I have ever heard at the palladium. They are one of the few bannds that can call it war-chester and get away with it in my book. they played 1/2 their songs from the new disk. |

yer welcome |
First: The Palladium has never sounded this good before.
Second: Amon Amarth's set was the best thing I have seen all year. That was so much fun. I did not expect that at all. |
my little review:
The Absence - Really kick ass band! Great stage presence and a great sound. Definite Amon Amarth influence, but they pull it off really well.
Belphegor - I was worried that their performance would get destroyed by the Palladium's usually awful sound, but they sounded awesome! Also, I pushed my way up close to the stage and found myself getting pushed about by the mosh pit and the hundreds of people. In between their set and Ensiferum, I got a group of folk to sing "What Is Love" by Haddaway. haha
Ensiferum - You know they were one of the first folk metal band I ever got into back in 2004/2005, so it was really awesome to see them. They kicked ass too! I got to do a jig with a friend of mine too which is always a good thing.
Amon Amarth - Words can't describe the awesome that is Amon Amarth. Easily one of the best live bands out there. Musically tight and with an amazing stage presence. I got caught up in the edge of the mosh pit for a bit during their set which was quite claustrophobic but extremely fun, until I got tired of my hair getting caught by random body parts. |
oops, forgot to link the photos here. |
originally, I typed that belphegor sounded AWESOME from where I was sitting. I was so surprised |
the best thing about their set was "MM.... SAM ADAMS IS PRETTY GOOD"
I lol'd |
oops, forgot to link the photos here. |
ooops i meant to say \'\'great pics\'\' but some how that quote came up. YAY |
great show indeed. excellent sound for Ensiferum + AA.
my one complaint (again) is the massive amount of 12 year olds. |
i dindt notice many. but i was in the pit the whole time so maybe they wernt there being one that started going to the palladium at 14 i always hated the assholes that would say shit like that or look at me weird, to me age doesnt matter if your 13 and into it thats cool but if your a douche then age means nothing thing that always pisses me off is all the skinheads there always abunch of douchebags |
rev, do we have a winner? |
I was at these shows kind of shows when I was 13. It's important we raise our metal village right. |
pires, it was either that one or 2 before it. person must have thought ICP was tonight or did it with permanent paint |
this show went a lot faster than i expected, only caught the end of ensiferum and amon amarth. any valid opinion i had on this show was erased by the 3 white russians i drank within 5 minutes of being there. it was all done after that.
i think i can remember like 4 or 5 songs, and running around the pit like a madman trying to pull people in because i was upset at the piss poor pitting performances i was witnessing.
i DO remember it sounding amazing, though. |
Real talk: how awesome was my beloved blonde bartender lookin?
Homegirl is fine. |
AND she makes a mean caucasian! |
Mmmhmmmm
Go tell it on the mountain. |
i told the mountain with my vomit |
The language of absolute truth. |
and that truth is "beers and jameson's are not good predecessors to white russians"
my body as of today speaks the truth that is "those vikings sonically destroyed your physical form last night" |
as I've stated in the past - i don't necessarily have a problem when there's younger people at the show. i DO have a problem when they have attitudes or bring the maturity level down to that of a kindergartener's. I mostly prefer 18 or 21+ shows regardless. but the palladium seems to have shitty sound lately, jackass security, and a overwhelming crowd of jr. high to highschool kids with attitudes.
it's not a fun place to go to a show anymore; but now that I think of it, was it ever? |
but then again, at the morbid angel/krisiun show a few years ago there was mostly an older crowd. I guess it's what bands are playing..
most of Amon Amarth's fanbase now consists of diehard fans of everyones' favorite show: DETHCOCK AMRASHIT |
yeah this show was fucking awesome. i was so shitfaced, i can only remember a few songs. does anyone know what they played? i was 2nd row for just about the entire set, everything was awesome. they looked so happy to be playing, i seem to recall Johan Hegg getting a camera and taking a picture of the crowd. they rule. i think i pulled every muscle in my back. |
Going to see this show in NY tonight |
my neck still hurts from this show |
i think i did irreversible damage to some ligaments in the left knee area and i don't remember how. it still hurts to walk. |
When I woke up this morning my neck was sore as hell. I saw that kid in the Skull paint so many times at the show. Anyone see me? I was in the German camo coat with the skull cap. |
I'm kinda surprised that I wasn't completely sore on Sunday. In fact, my back had tons of knots and such and after the show I was better... |
I believe there were two kids wearing corpse paint at the show?
Who the fuck wears corpse paint to a Amon Amarth and Ensiferum show??
If anything, they should be wearing some woad. |
To that kids defence, Belphegor is a band worthy for showing up with Corpse Paint. |
haha, no band is worthy showing up with Corpse Paint. Belphegor does not wear corpse paint anyway. If it was the Watain show then it would have been somewhat understandable, but let the kids be kids. |
said corpse painted kid was probably thinking "why the fuck are all these false motherfuckers here? this makes me want to think about burning down a church." |
I don't know, but one of the corpse paint kids was with a girl that wasn't too shabby. at least from the back it looked like it. |
it's mostly all good from the back...mostly
i don't remember seeing one vagina in that place. wait, maybe there was one on the stairs. |
Hey, lets all agree that its better to see a kid corpse paint his face for Belphegor than for ICP.
I saw a few women who were quite tapable. |
