There is a book called "Lies My Teacher Told Me".

One of the chapters writes about how American History does not teach its high school students suffering and the concepts of it. They do not see images of suffering and teachers are taught to not teach it.

your experiences, thoughts, opinions?

Suffering suffering or suffering as in sufferage ala voting?

unlikely every other book we read in high school was some dumbass book about slavery, on top of that Schindler's list was practically considered as a primary source on the holocaust.

i was taught that there's no such thing as truth in history.
history books are influenced by the writers and editors, so
if there's something they don't want you to know, they
omit it. and if there's something they find more interesting,
you hear more about it. but, either way, what's written is in the
opinions of the books writers.

there is truth in history, and with out it we would not be posting on this web..... It all in how you go about learning.. do you listen in grade school or high school.... yes you did, you had too or you would pass the test... that history is completely sub standard.... go to the book store or library and check out how many real history book are out there.... yes book are words and opinions from humans..... so what some of the writers out there are writing actual history... it all in the eye of the beholder anyway.... there are still people who belive that we never landed on the moon, or that the Holocaust never happened.... We need to rethink the way we teach every one in the school systems,,,,, Exspecialy History... How many people know that the battle of Bunker Hill was actually faught on neighboring Breeds Hill... or that Nepolien was 6'4"... They teach us the basics, false a lot of the times but its up to us as adults to learn the real truths about ourselves and our history..... sorry about the tangent...

Hey, why so many elipses?? Anyway, Napolean was actually 6'4"? How did people get the idea that he was so short??

It'show the british portrayed him in cartoons, as a short man trying to make yup for his "short" commings. Penis envy type of thing. about the ellipses. I work in an insurance company and thats how i stop a statement, and go on to the next statement. its pointless i know but thats how its done here and i have brought it over to the real world

Hey thanks a lot for the fun fact. One more question. Do said cartoons go back to the time of Napoleon's reign, or are they realitively modern? Also, about the elipses, why do insurance companies do this? Also, you might want to consider only using 4 after every statement, since that is the correct way to use elipses (3 if you are not necessarily ending your sentence). I know this seems pointless, but since you are a professional, people might think better of you. Or you could not take advice from someone who is still in highschool, which might be the better option.

I don't have anyway of getting a picture of me on the computer yet. No digital camera, no web cam. The best I can do is get pictures with Opeth at the show, develop them in jpg format, make some freewebs webpage to host them, then I can post them. So, yeah, that is what I will do. They will be up sometime in March, but you guys can find me outside waiting for Opeth to come out after the show if you really want to know what I look like (don't be alarmed at my appearance, for I am a teenage mutant ninja turtle).
