The fact that white people just get called "Americans" represents an implication that Americans are white people and that all other races are not good enough to be true Americans. I think the writer of this blog is trying to agree that it's all racism, which I agree with. The problem to me is why are you calling people these names in the first place? Who cares?

This annoys me just based on the fact that it implies that white people don't ever live in ghettos. This is not a race issue, this is a financial issue. There are rich minorities and there are poor white people. When you're born into a life where you can't afford a college education no matter how well you do in grade school, then have to work a shit job that pays shit because the rich employers will barely dish out more than minimum wage, are unable to find a decent place to live because you can't get a good paying job, let's see how you like living in the ghetto. You might not have as much of a choice as you think and I can't really blame people for being pissed off that they live in a bad area with no way to get out.

Yeah, but white people also have Columbus Day, Presidents Day(celebrating white male presidents), Christmas, the 4th of July and Thanksgiving(to celebrate achievements made by white people). There may be Black History Month but when that ends, the other 11 months of the year are White History Year. When was the last time you opened a high school history book and saw any history on Native Americans or Africans? Why do the cirriculums teach World History but skip all the chapters on China? You have "world history" touted to you like Europe is the world, and then later all the lands that people from Europe colonized. You have US history that teaches cute little stories about the nice American settlers duping the stupid Native American savages into selling the island of Manhattan for 42 cents or whatever.

Most sitcoms on television are already dedicated to white people anyway. Yeah, so there's Chapelle Show, Mind of Mencia, the George Lopez show, Diff'rent Strokes, Good Times...compare that to how many sitcoms there have been about white people?

There is no need for a "White History Month" because we're already inundated with white history. Jewish holidays like Hanukkah and Passover don't warrant time off school but Christmas does. And I've never even heard of this Cesar Chavez Day shit, find me a calendar where that shows up and then tell me who gets that day off school or work.

There has never been a reason for white people to march for their race or rights. There has never been a time in American history where white people didn't have their rights. Andrew Jackson may have been touting "Let the people rule!" during his presidency, but women, blacks, and Native Americans weren't allowed to vote. A person who has pride in their race is a person who has accomplished nothing in life to be truly proud of. It takes no effort to be born a certain way. You may be angry that people had to fight for their equal rights with proclamations of pride, but fighting back with proclamations of your own white pride is not any better, and it's even worse when you already had your rights to begin with and you act like they're somehow threatened when white people are still the majority in this country.

This one again implies that all minorities commit crimes, or that all people who commit crimes are minorities. There are white robbers, carjackers, snipers, drug dealers, and threats to society. This is not a race issue. This is a personality issue.

Why is it that only whites can be racists?

If you agreed with this blog, you are a racist. Any person of any race is capable of being a racist, but it's easiest for a white person to be a racist. After all, they do have the highest percent of the population in this country. Think of how much easier it is for a white person to be surrounded by all white people than it is for a person of color to be surrounded by all people of the same color.

I think this promotes racism if anything...I try to look at humans as humans, not colors, you know?

It most certainly promotes racism, considering the implications in the blog that all people of color live in ghettos and carjack and rob everybody who's white.

when you look at any object, the first characteristic most notice is color. its the easiest thing to identify. in the case of humans, it causes us to have prejudgments about others. with tolerance and common sense, this is not an issue. today, race is used mostly as a scapegoat. it fucking sucks sometimes, but thats the way society rolls.
