i've always thought that they could do an awesome cover of an AIC song. i thought an acoustic version of "Nutshell" would be incredible, but "Would?" is going to be awesome.

i can't wait to hear this album. apparently there are blast beats. that would be a first. hopefully that addition of Martin Axenrot on drums will bring a much more aggressive sound.

they are really boring live... so is amorphis... I saw em the same night and almost fell asleep. But they are both ok in my book.

i guess you have to be a diehard fan to love Opeth live. i can understand why it would bore people.

I think Opeth are only boring live to people who would consider themselves death metal fans before they would consider themselves music fans. Sometimes when I'm at one of their shows I'll just close my eyes and let the music do the talking.

I'm interested in the cover, I don't really think they need to do it, but if someone could do it justice it's them. Far as all this being boring live comments, that is funny, they play their songs and they play them really well and ussually live slightly sped up, they don't fuck up and they dont act like rock stars, it's refreshing to see a band with dry humor that is serious about their music.

I saw Amorphis at the Jersey Meltdown in '00 (crazy fucking lineup) and they were...... terrible.

i really like the AIC cover. kind of a weird choice for opeth, but it came out great.

.....strange thing was, EVERYONE was excited for em, and after em, EVERYone was pissed.

You can listen to it right now on youtube. I'm not sure how I feel about it yet; it's missing certain details that made the original great.

listening now... definitely a haunting version of the tune. i'd be more interested in seeing it live though

amorphis is great live, especially with the current singer. he is the opposite of pasi, in that he actually has stage presence and energy.

Everything from Privilege of Evil up to Tales From the Thousand Lakes is classic Amorphis. Pasi is a lot better off in Shape of Despair, who are beyond anything Amorphis has done in the past 12 years.

I was there, they were horrible because they got stuck at the airport customs
and got hammered, so when they did show up, they couldnt play, I had to walk out it was so bad.

Yeah, it was horrendous. The fact that it was in that long merch room didn't help. Great lineup otherwise that year. That was the first time i saw origin.
