"10th Annual New England Metal And Hardcore Festival (1p, 11a, noon)
april 25, 26, 27

confirmed bands:
april 26:The Invaluable Darkness Tour Part 2 – Legions Of The Chosen Few: Dimmu Borgir, Behemoth, and Keep of Kalessin
Heaven Shall Burn, Embrace The End, and The Ghost Inside
april 27:
"C U LaTouR": Ministry, Meshuggah, Hemlock
Paganfest 2008: Ensiferum, Turisas, Tyr and Eluvettie

weird behemoth and dimmu headlining again, come on change the bands

Drummer Tony Laureano will continue to handle drum duties, as the 2007 injury suffered by Hellhammer still has him sidelined.

****gigantour is be headlining the day before(thursday) (no gigantour dates on friday or sunday, speculation on possible appearances at metalfest is encouraged)****"

Heaven Shall Burn. I shall like to see that.

toggletoggle post by archaeon at Feb 1,2008 12:00pm
27th doesnt look too bad

toggletoggle post by NotCommonRecords  at Feb 1,2008 12:01pm
I am the new singer of Nevermore.

toggletoggle post by martins   at Feb 1,2008 12:03pm
The whole paganfest part is going to kick SO much ass. I might go just for that day. Tyr and Eluveitie own my fucking ass.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Feb 1,2008 12:47pm
i want to go to both nights, the first one to see Dimmu and Nevermore, but if its like 100 bucks again then fuck that. i'll just go to the Meshuggah night.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Feb 1,2008 12:48pm
so i wonder who is playing the 25th?

toggletoggle post by goatcatalyst   at Feb 1,2008 1:18pm
silly people, thinking the "metalfest" is or ever was about dumb bands.

toggletoggle post by diarrhea_blumpkin at Feb 1,2008 1:24pm
not impressed

toggletoggle post by This_Is_Heresy  at Feb 1,2008 1:31pm
This seems a lot less sucky than recent years. Tyr, Eluvettie, Nevermore, Behemoth. Dimmu, Keep of Kalessin. Not bad. Now whats the cost is the real fuckin question.

toggletoggle post by contagion   at Feb 1,2008 1:47pm
i hate that all the good tours go through metalfest so i have to sit through 500 bands that suck ass in order to listen to 5 that i actually want to see. fuckin gay.

isn't it better to consolidate than to have thin responses at both? I would like to see some variety than past years... maybe toss in some locals, suprise me.

I'll probably go for the social experience/atmosphere... that and the peculiar odor in the mens room.

toggletoggle post by Yeti at Feb 1,2008 3:14pm
the idea is definitely right, but too bad Scott Lee is a douche and doesn't care to do something like that.

best thing is meeting dudes in bands you don't like who are kinda high on themselves and sinking their battleship

"Oh, what band are you in?"
"Shitty band X"
"Oh... that's too bad."

Man... every year they announce the decent metal bands bands first from where they happen to get their tours to line up. And every year there are a couple or so bands that will make you think it'd be worth it to go. And every year they fill the rest of the bands with the shittiest metalcore imaginable as well as give the metal bands shit set times and never have them all in the same day. And every year they jack up the prices $5 to $10.

It's never worth going.

Granted the price and shit band may make me not want to go... But I really do want the chance to see Tyr and Eluvettie. It seems a rare-ish oppertunity.

im so done with this fest, i mean i love behemoth and i'd kind of like to see ministry...

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Feb 3,2008 2:20pm
i'm going to the day of the paganfest tour. i'd rather sit through shitty bands to see that tour than not see it at all. i wish the paganfest tour was not at metalfest, but i have no control over it, so i'll just suck it up and go

I've been waiting to see Heaven Shall Burn for years, they're a guilty pleasure of mine.

i was already planning on going to see Meshuggah anyways, too bad it has to be at metalfest again. That means extra shitty sound and probably a 30 minute set.
