New site? Maybe some day.
|
Shit's coming along slowly but surely. First song's all mapped out, and we're in the process of working in vox and ironing out the kinks - tops out at 12 minutes plus, probably more once we make space for lyrics. We're gluttons for punishment. The handful of other tracks are in various states of completitude, and we have a kick-ass disco light. Things are looking up.
Hoping to have a preview track slapped together for your listening pleasure soon. |

you have grim in your band name?
i take it im not going to be into it. |

Herugrim = sword of King Théoden |

Well, we do cover a few Onyx songs, but that's a secret. |

Besides, you can't really slam with a sword - more of a cutting thing. What you want is a footman's flail. |
|
dammit. is there a band named after a footman's flail? |
|
In addition, we are some sexy handsome men. LOL

I always figured that you of all people would have many more naked dudes on your walls. |

Eesh...
So far? It's a base broth of slower black metal (Burzum, Drudkh, Primordial), with some blast-y and some thrash-y parts, and a big heaping helping of viking metal (Enslaved especially) and doomy stuff (Agalloch?). Ensiferum is a big reference point for me, at least on the parts I'm writing - there'll probably be some straight-up folky parts, and I sing (as opposed to screaming) on some parts. Seth and I tend to lean towards the thrash, and that finds its way in as well. Lots of acoustic stuff, too - we're gonna have someone playing live acoustic and keys. We're getting pretty progressive with the whole thing - pretty much anything we can all agree on goes in the pot.
All in all, it's pretty tough for me to pin down - I'm sure other people will be able to hear it and peg it right off ("They're an [X] clone."). We're probably not as original as I think we are. *snort* |

"Doom-tinged progressive Viking black metal." Sort of. |

A while. It's been slow going, and we're all short on time, but we've been gaining some momentum, at least. Seth's leaving next summer, so the idea is to get this EP banged out (it's a concept EP) (man, we're fucking nerds), and then on to shows. Maybe we'll be ready before; I'd be psyched if we were.
'Course, the one song we have mostly done would be most of an entire set at some shows, so maybe we're not as far off as I think. |
|
We're actually looking for someone to play acoustic / keys live. The emphasis is on acoustic. The sole reason for this position is atmosphere. Not much experience needed for keys as I don't think we'd heavily be using them live. |
|
Good luck with this project... I actually bought an electric acoustic over the summer time but my time is really limited.
Looking forward to hearing this!
|
|
Hey man, thanks Paul. It's definitely unique so far.
We're only practicing Friday nights at the moment.
Let me know if anyone is interested in the "atmospheric" position.
It's definitely a very important position for the live sound at least. |
|
Ability to do vocal harmonies would be a super-amazing plus, but not a requirement. |
|
I may be able to help you out on that too, DestroyYouA Lot. |
|
And baby makes 3! LOL
Seriously, the more the merrier - I'd be PSYCHED if we could pull off dense chants, live. |
|
sounds GRAND. let me know when you're ready to come down to CT |
|
Yeah dude, definitely give me a shout when you guys are ready to play out. |
|
i want to hear this stuff. you had me at primordial. |
|
anyone is welcome to check us out on Friday night in Allston. |

Just not girls. Girls are icky. And their periods attract bears. |

The bears smell the menstruation. |
