submit your picks before 4 pm today.
1 point per correct game picked.
no scale for games further along the playoffs.
don't forget that 1 seeds play the WORST REMAINING TEAM, so if the titans(6) win they play the Pats(1) in the 2nd round, if they lose then the pats play the winner of jags(5)/steelers(4). Cowboys are the #1 seed in the NFC
winner gets bragging rights. or maybe a beer. or a coke if mikeyx wins.

1st round:
Jaguars (Steelers are too beat up)
Chargers (they scare me)
Seahawks (too good at home)
Giants (eli sucks, but i cant justify picking the bucs for a playoff game)

2nd round:
Patriots (homer/o)
Chargers (this game is going to be awesome. i hate peyton.)
Cowboys (seahawks are too mediocre)
Packers (eli sucks)

Superbowl:
Patriots (homer/o)
Packers (Cowboys don't look like the same team they were at beginning)

Winner:
Patriots (i wish i could pick someone else, but i cant justify rooting against them. Plus, this would be the best superbowl matchup in a long time)

Ha, I saw that coming a mile away. The Skins got crushed. They could only run on raw emotion for so long before it got to them.

toggletoggle post by xmikex at Jan 6,2008 2:52am
I saw this thread late, but I don't think anyone who isn't Clinton Portis thought the Skins were going to beat Seattle. And I'll be honest, I thought Pittsburgh was going to beat Jacksonville.

so...
1
Steelers (b'oh!)
Seattle
Giants (Giants suck, but I don't see them losing to Tampa)
San Diego (I hate San Diego, and I don't think they're a playoff team, but the Titans are just so flimsy, there's no way they escape the first round against anyone)

2
Pats
Colts
Cowboys
Packers

Pats

I think I should get a little credit for being honest, and not trying to sneak in a Jags pick after the fact.

Bucs definitely over NY. Chargers over Titans.

"bucs def. over NY" isn't looking too good right now.

Pats over Pack even though I love the Packers but I am realistic

The media gushing over the Giants win today is laughable. It was a game they were supposed to win. I'd bet money they lose in embarassing fashion in the next round.

The Jags at the patriots next weekend. Going to be a tough, killer game! Jags win it 27-24 in OT!

Wait for it, wait for it...............

Jags played sloppy against an even sloppier, and injury weakened Pittsburg team and barely won. The Pats have beaten every team the media said would be a lock to beat them. It should be a good game, but the Pats will be locked in. I don't see Jacksonville coming out of this one.

I think this game will be a lot closer too. The Colts have consistently struggled with the Chargers if I recall. IMO the Colts and the Pats are the only 2 teams that deserve to be in the AFC Championship, so I do think Indy will pull off a win.

toggletoggle post by Dankill at Jan 7,2008 9:17am
The Jags played like crap. They almost handed over an 18 point lead to a beat-up and injured Steelers in the 4th quarter for a loss. Granted, they are a tough physical team, I feel even better abotu this match-up then I did before watching them play the Steelers.

toggletoggle post by SkinSandwich at Jan 7,2008 9:59am
I knew I would get a bit of a rise out of people, Ha. I know the Pats will win, but it will be a tough game for them as the Jags running game is pretty tight and the Pats have not been good against the run recently. They will be well rested for this so that is certainly a plus. Was anyone else a bit pissed off about the pats play calling against the Giants?? I was! Why they kept trying to run on the Giants alot was beyond me. The Giants have a stingy run defense. I hope they don't pull that shit with the Jags.

The Pack won't score 3 points.

The super bowl will be alot closer then all of u think. Green Bay is far better then the Jags don't forget we have an awesome recieving core and the running game is better then the Jags. Go ahead everyone talk your shit but the Packers are the one team that was never even predicted to win 10 games. Now look at them, I can't wait till Kampman and KGB sack Brady and ruin his make-up.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Jan 14,2008 7:29pm
so far, i've predicted every winner, except for the redskins-hawks game and the colts-chargers game.

Anyone but the Patriots.

Considering that they have won 3 out of the last 6 Superbowls, how is it still exciting?

Red Sox winning the World Series after 80 sum odd years was exciting. Even their second win last season I could see as exciting for those types who are into watching whinny queers get paid millions to play a little boys sport.

A team has to go 2 decades without winning a superbowl to be deserving superbowl winners. Green Bay's got a great team, and I respect what they've done. But no one, NO ONE has out performed the Pats this year. Give credit where it's due.

how can you possibly make reference to the patriots schedule as anything but strong? They beat 2/3 teams left in the playoffs (chargers, giants), and beat 3/4 teams to lose in the divisional round (cowboys, colts, jaguars). They beat the best team to lose in the first round (steelers), as well as the best team to not make the playoffs (Browns) and the better of the 2 teams to lose in the first round of the NFC wildcard (redskins).

The only good teams they didn't beat were because (obviously) they didnt play them (Packers, Seahawks). However, the patriots beat one of only 2 teams that beat the Pack (cowboys). And if you even want to call the seahawks good (i'd prefer "NFC good" or "ok"), you can still say that out of the 6 teams the hawks lost to, the patriots beat 2 of them (steelers, browns).

And even though the rest of their division was weak, the Bills are still a top 15 team in any power ranking. So the Patriots had 4 really easy games out of 17. They played the best division in the NFC as well as the 3 other best teams in the AFC and did so convincingly. The '72 dolphins beat teams with a combined winning percentage of what i believe was under 500. Find one other team in the league this year that had a schedule difficulty even close to the patriots and fared even remotely as successful (10 wins). You can't.

I SAID GOOD DAY
