I just missed the first band. 5 Minute Hate was good. Conifer was amazing. Kervorkian's, always awesome.

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 9,2004 2:57am
boston FUCK YOU.
it took me over 40 minutes to get out of there cause the end of storrow dr. was fucked up.
and then I drove around making the mistake of following the detour signs, but all the roads were blocked.

ok... working on pictures now.

tamila is leaving to study in Australia

toggletoggle post by shatteredliz   at Jan 9,2004 9:59am
Yeah, she's MOVING to Australia for good...She's gonna get her masters ther so they let her stay in the country...I miss her already!!!!

toggletoggle post by the_reverend   at Jan 9,2004 10:08am edited Jan 9,2004 10:16am
yes, tamila (or however you spell it) is running off to australia to marry a bush baby so they had cake and all for her. If my flash wasn't acting up, there would have been some "toasting kevorkian" pictures. damn flash.

Hatred Alive: I guess they are from vermont. Pretty much just straight up dm. sort of like deicide with more of the straight death repluse records bands (aka jesus martyr). Granted, I didn't know the lyrics so it wasn't catchy like a deicide set.

5 minutes hate: They have a new vocalist who is probably still getting used to the gig. it was pretty good, not ever hearing them before. I know they are reformed from assemble the remains, but the guitars were a lot dirtier sounding then what I remember of atr. oh, and they were a lot more than 5 minutes late. (hahah, I crack myself up!) They will have CDs at the bombshelter show.

conifer: great set. seems really short. no singing what so ever in this set. I love how they don't stop between songs. The Guitarists tune and the drums/bass keep on playing. Fills in quite nicely. Somethings I noticed on this perforance, I think they slowed it down a notch. Also, I head some space-rock guitars that I hadn't heard before. Made me wonder if they are going to try to get on Terrastock this year. (their set was the longest I saw phantos without a whiskey in his hand)

Kevorkian's Angels: always excellent to see them. They played some new songs and had a shorts set so there were only a couple I knew. Then they ended with 2 ramones covers. I'm sure if it hadn't been so late, they would have done rocket to russia cover to cover.

Tamilla will be greatly missed, she was a great friend. I have known her almost 6 years now.
She was also the first person to ever play Kevorkian's Angels on the radio and really helped my get my bands rolling in Boston.

O'Brien's wil never be the same now without Tamilla assaulting people and rocking out to every single band

Jeez, why's this always happen? Seems like every time I get chummy with a woman, she packs up and moves to Australia. Pffft. Some guys have all the luck.

Aka send a farewell and best wishes from me her way.
for escaping Massachusetts.

i didn't take pics of the first band because the battery was charging...and while 5 minutes hate was playing...we unplugged it even though i don't think it was fully charged

Conifer is one of the greatest live acts I've yet seen. I've only seen them twice but I have been into each note of the set each time. Their music has a very odd effect on the mind, I had some strange visions during their set. Hatred Alive has quite the drummer, they had a rather engaging set as well... actually 5 Minutes Hate had a good drummer also. Kevorkians Angels were probably the best I've seen them since they played Fat Nugs night at the middle east long ago. Strange show, left me in a very pensive mood, especially after conifer played. I couldn't find any homeless men to pick fights with afterward though. gL:

This is Nick from Hatred Alive, and I just wanted to say that I had a blast at this show, the crowd was great and the bands kicked ass. I wish we could have stayed around for the whole night.

Everyone one I met was cool as hell, even if the drummer from 5 Minutes Hate made me feel like a gimp - and we're DEFINITELY looking forward to coming back down.

Oh yeah, and you're all a bunch of pussies for talking about how cold it was... It hit -54 here in Scumford Maine that morning with the wind chill factor hahaha.

Keep it brutal!
