My 2 year old truck died over the weekend. Apparently mice got into the wiring, built a nest in the wiring harness and started chewing away. $420 later it runs again. Vehicles are gay.
You would think it would only happen in a vehicle that sits for long periods of time, but I drive my truck EVERY day -- I bought it brand new in Fall of 2005, and I currently have almost 88,000 miles on it now. When did the little fuckers find time to build a goddamn nest and eat my ignition wiring?
take a pvc bucket... a hanger... and coke can...
stretch the hanger straight out over the top of the bucket then put a hole in the coke can and thread it on the hanger so it spins in the middle of the bucket. then put peanut butter smeared on the can. now throw that thing in your cab someplace at night.
the mice will walk on the hanger and try to get the peanut butter in the middle of the can and fall in the bucket and wont get out. maybe put something on the bottom so it makes it hard for them to jump... like syrup, roofing cement or vasoline or something.
