This diagram was created by a friend of mine to represent a three component metal rating system (invented by both of us)
Each band is analyzed under the categories of Bro0tal, Tro0 and Grim. (all other components a metal band could adhere to must be taken as a sub-category basis as it does not lend well to the three axis schematics)
For example, we deduced Iron Maiden, as shown, have a rather small inclination towards the Brutal, a large dosage of True and null Grimness factor.
Morbid Angel, on the integrity of their key members (discounting David Vincent's Genitorturers stint) rank high on all three axes.

hahahaha, viking with a sword in a storm |
|
that is pretty damn funny. |
|
this would look sweet modeled in three dimensions. i personally prefer the metrics of brutality, melody, and technicality. grimness and trueness are both a little too subjective for my tastes, when it comes to musical 3-D modeling.
but hey, what do i know... i think letter openers are wicked grim!
ha just noticed spastic ink, nice. although bobby jarzombeck's best album will always be RIOT's THUNDERSTEEL, spastic is still pretty cool. |
|
sunglasses are more tr00 that Stratovarius |
|
gotta love how machine head represents the lowest possible measure of br00tal. |
|
i think avenged sevenfold should've been the lowest point. |

You must be really bored to be doing this. Get a life and a job! |

im confused why discordance axis is more troo than disgorge. They seem less "troo" to me. But more kick ass. |
