The reissue thread inspired me to make this. One of the few thrash bands from the early 80's still producing great music today. what does everybody else think? best album?

The Legacy is my favorite album from them; they never topped it in my opinion.

toggletoggle post by dreadkill  at Nov 6,2007 11:37pm
hard to say. i love the legacy and the new order. i love most of the songs from souls of black and the ritual. my least favorite is demonic, but i can't pick a favorite.

the only one that sucks is the ritual, honestly i enjoyed the rerecording of the first two albums the most.

i thought first strike still deadly was really good....didnt include it because...well, if you think it's the best, then your pick would either be legacy or new order, depending on what songs you liked the most

i wanted to throw up when i heard alone in the dark on that cd however

I have to go with 'The Legacy'. One of my favorite thrash albums. guitar wankery at it's finest.

toggletoggle post by rotivore at Nov 7,2007 6:47pm
demonic was garbage.......all the others were really good......such an underated band.........I think the legacy is the best....followed by the new order......I can almost say that they go in order from best to worst oldest to newest....almost..........and BTW threads like this dont get old.......there should be many more threads like this.....this site is a pop forum and gossip column for the most part......when it should have discussions of the great music of the past 30 years.....I really dont care what you did today at work or who you are......I live for metal!!

Testament is gay.

soooooooooooooooooooooooo overrated

This is hard. I love Testament from the Legacy through The Ritual.
I'd have to give it up for The New Order here, but there were SOILD in their prime.

you claim to enjoy thrash metal and you DO NOT like Testament??? for shame.....

toggletoggle post by mortalis  at Nov 8,2007 12:52am
they're ok, but their riffs can be very lacking. there are so many thrash bands from the bay area alone, who didn't get as big as testament, that i'd take over them. vio-lence, exodus, laaz rockit, ulysses siren, heathen, etc

toggletoggle post by theaccurseddrummer  at Nov 8,2007 9:53am
Weird, nobody's mentioned it much, but my fave is tied for 2nd, The Gathering. I love that CD. The New Order's a wicked close 2nd though.

Testament should have featured Fred Durst on some tunes when they had the chance.

The Legacy is their only good record.

This band is the definition of safe thrash lite.
