Rescued 6 black lab (mix) puppies out of the middle of the road on
Saturday. PLEASE help find them homes - otherwise, it's Animal Control
- which means they only have 5 days. We've bathed them, sprayed them
for fleas and wormed them....but we can't keep them. They are currently
in a kennel in my basement since I don't have a fence. I've lost count
of the number of rescue groups that I've contacted, only to be turned
down due to no room. Please check with every dog person you know to see
if they need a puppy.
They are about 8-10 weeks old

Aw, what kind of monster would desert them on the side of a road. If I could I would take them, but I don't have the time to raise pups. As well I will be moving shortly with three women who have like two cats each. |

I would beat anyone senseless who would desert puppies. 1 dog is enough for our house unfortunately, especially since she's still a puppy. If for some reason Spalding's safe place falls through, I'll ask my uncle if the rescue organization he works for has room. |

I thought it was an email hoax too and told carina any shelter would take them. the only thing that made me think it might be plausible was the email it came from originally. |

i know a really good animal rescue lady... i helped her out when i was like 10 and my cousin and aunt are good friends with her. if this is fake, im pissed. i would have been able to take 1 after that lady fixed them and gave them all their shots and stuff (which would have been for free)... most of them would have been search and rescue pups too. shame... |

Totally. Puppies don't last very long at shelters. Ideally, most people expect to get puppy when they go there for a dog but it's usually a pretty tough score to land one. |

I have two german shorthair pointers that I hunt with and I was lookin for a nice "pet" lab. but most pups end up back in the shelter because the person adopting them do not realize the amount of work needed to train, spend money, look after, change your lifestyle, etc... its sad. |

some broad in our department at unh forwarded this email around. She just sent this:
"Yesterday I forwarded an email about the lab-mix puppies that were
rescued and desperately need homes. I'm afraid this was a hoax. The
puppies are fictitious and, apparently, the puppy scam is now
nationwide. Because the email came from an impeccable source and
because it was about such a seemingly innocent subject, I didn't
question its validty.
I must say how impressed I am with the spirit of generosity in our
department. 4 of you expressed interest in adopting and many more had
suggestions about shelters and rescues. I appreciate your compassion.
I apologize to everyone for perpetrating this scam and wasting your time
and sympathies. " |
