Another band that I fucking love...

Slip has to be one of the most musically influential albums of my youth.

Thumbs up. As awesome as Slip was, I'm still more of a fan of Manic Compression. Thorn in My Side is a great song.

+1

Haven't heard these guys in a long time, though.

Slip is a great CD.

whatever happened to these guys?... i used to call up WAAF all the time when i was a kid and constantly request Thorn in my Side.

Know what irked me about Slip (and it's pretty much the ONLY thing I didn't LOVE about that album)? The re-recorded version of Omission. I really loved the 7", it was a lot more raw than the CD, so the new version kinda took the fire out of it. Slip was insane though, Baphomet, Fazer, Head to Wall, what a fucking great record. I'm going to listen to both CD's now. Damn it.

They went into the studio after touring for years for Manic Compression and for some stupid reason Walter decided to let someone else write songs. I guess it was so bad they just broke up. After that they toured in 97 or 98 and tried going back into the studio again, but the same BS kept it from happening. I'm kinda glad they broke up, but only because it kept them (as a band anyway,) from ever really putting something regrettable out.

I remember Burn, they weren't bad -- I believe I saw them live once or twice. And yes, Quicksand was good, they definitely stood out in that time frame.

You guys are weird.

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Sep 19,2007 9:56am
Not weird, just very old.

toggletoggle post by DestroyYouAlot  at Sep 19,2007 9:58am
Man, I'll tell you one thing: I'm old enough to remember why I don't listen to Quicksand.

toggletoggle post by largefreakatzero at Sep 19,2007 10:01am
Haha -- I don't listen to them anymore, but they were interesting when they came out.

toggletoggle post by DestroyYouAlot  at Sep 19,2007 10:07am
The closest I ever got to that style was Shift. Fucking excellent band, although the drummer totally carried them. (She was the girl that ended up in Motley Crue.)

wow i totally forgot about these guys. Thorn in My Side was a good song.

I'll admit...I still listen to Slip on a monthly basis.
